Various artistswikt:Various artists[edit]

The result of the discussion was Speedy Deleted - The wiktionary page deleted making this useless. - Rjd0060 (talk) 17:20, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete and remove all incoming links. It's a soft redirect to a wiktionary page that has been deleted, there's no use having it. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 20:23, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There must be somewhere useful that we could redirect it to? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:31, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm open to suggestions...but I certainly can't think of anything good to redirect it to. Personally I think the massive linking of the term "various artists" in infoboxes across multiple articles is pointless and we'd be better off just getting rid of all that blue. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 00:08, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete and remove all incoming links. Agree, serves no purpose. J04n(talk page) 01:06, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete unless someone can think of somewhere useful to redirect it to. Robofish (talk) 03:41, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Would compilation album be a good target? - Eureka Lott 02:13, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would say yes - Retarget to Compilation album would be a decent idea; this is certainly a plausible search term that could do with pointing somewhere useful. ~ mazca t|c 17:48, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:RAINWikipedia:Snowball clause[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Wizardman 16:28, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot see how someone looking for Wikipedia:Snowball clause would look for this. -- IRP 18:44, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - silly/pointless redirect. I doubt there's anywhere better to point this to. Robofish (talk) 03:40, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, rain and snow both fall from the sky. Snow has the power to create havoc by closing schools and shutting down cities but rain won't do this unless it falls in mass amounts (and even then it could be due to rising sea levels). So I guess in the metaphorical context that this is meant it reflects the weather at different levels. It might not always snow but it will rain. Or something like that. Also very useful in the unfortunate event of someone missing the letters O, S or W from their keyboard. I sympathise with that; I had a massive problem with my A a while back. --candlewicke 21:20, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brunei at the 2008 Summer Olympics2008 Summer Olympics[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. Wizardman 16:30, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Subject that none of the athletes have not registered from 2008 Summer Olympics. Like Afghanistan's suspension of participation of 2000 Summer Olympics due to Taliban's regime. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 16:46, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lisa McMurrayPrevalence of rabies[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Wizardman 16:29, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect target, Prevalence of rabies#United Kingdom, doesn't even mention McMurray by name. I doubt this will be used as a search term by the general public. Students/doctors/etc., if searching for McMurray, will no doubt already be aware of the cause of death. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:14, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect was agreed upon after a deletion discussion. --candlewicke 07:53, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I realize that. Unfortunately that doesn't make a redirect any more useful. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 08:11, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • comment presumably this is the person referred to in the target section as 'A woman' without giving a name. PaulJones (talk) 10:16, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I believe so, yes. I'm sure it would be useful for people in the United Kingdom and in Northern Ireland in particular where the prevalence of rabies in the area is demonstrated in a nutshell by this case. --candlewicke 11:28, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - not mentioned on target page; nowhere useful to redirect to. Robofish (talk) 03:37, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah but she could be mentioned, particularly given that she is the first case in so long. Bad merging. :) --candlewicke 20:14, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Think about it this way: The few people who might be interested in Lisa McMurray as a person will be directed to the rabies article by search engines. That's not the most flattering way to sum up someone's life. I realize that you are personally invested, having written the initial article on her case, however I think that we are in agreement that it is the only notable aspect of her life. If you consider things from a medical viewpoint, her case is rare, but it does not redefine the disease and it is not linked to her identity. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 18:42, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
