November 15[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on November 15, 2008

GoutetsuAkuma (Street Fighter)[edit]

The result of the debate was Keep. Goutetsu is mentioned in the target article. Ruslik (talk) 14:27, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uker (talk · contribs) blanked this page with the intention of getting it deleted. His rationale was that Goutetsu was only vaguely related to Akuma and that a Google search for 'Goutetsu' would bring up Akuma's page instead. I have no real opinion on this, but since he said his intent was to have it deleted, I brought it here. JuJube (talk) 06:14, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This is an extremely minor role in the game's "backstory". No target seems appropriate. --UsaSatsui (talk) 23:05, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Don't see the problem. The target lists him as master of the two brothers which is consistent with e.g. this.[1]. Has also some edit history. --Tikiwont (talk) 09:26, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

South East Idaho TVTemplate:Idaho Falls/Pocatello TV[edit]

The result of the debate was Delete.Tikiwont (talk) 09:26, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely spelling of a CNR from a reverse Copy-paste move (someone forked the template, someone else redirect back to the main copy). MBisanz talk 05:15, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Make pageHelp:Starting a new page[edit]

The result of the debate was Keep as hard redirect. Tikiwont (talk) 09:39, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to transform this soft-redirect into a hard-redirect, like other pages redirecting to Help:Starting a new page from mainspace, there is no apparent reason to use a soft-redirect here. Listing here since the page is fully-protected. Cenarium Talk 00:53, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - since you are an admin, why not just be bold and do it? This RfD is a waste of time. Tohd8BohaithuGh1 (t·c·r) 01:20, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • I would view this as an abuse of power. But if there is a rapid consensus emerging, I'm willing to do the edit, or let another admin speedy close this. Cenarium Talk 01:27, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • The redirect was originally created in a protected status - and, frankly I can't see why. There was no consensual decision that you would be overriding so I don't see your proposal as any kind of abuse of power. If there is any "abuse", it would be in the minor matter of applying protection that appears to be in excess of the Protection policy. Be bold and fix the problem. Or discuss it directly with the admin who created the page. You don't need the rest of us until/unless that discussion breaks down. Rossami (talk) 04:15, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • It wouldn't have been if I had discussed with the admin, but I preferred to list here because CNRs are controversial and I think each one should be discussed. I think this one is acceptable so I didn't propose deletion. It has been repeatedly recreated, so I assume protection was done to prevent newbies from messing with the page. Cenarium Talk 23:51, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think this RfD is a waste of time. It is redirects for discussion after all. This proposal seems fine with me. -- Ned Scott 03:52, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree - I definitely think that the principal criterion for redirects should be 'does it help the unwashed masses find what they are looking for?' and the answer here is 'yes'. The fact that it cuts across a namespace does not bother me. - Richard Cavell (talk) 12:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete and salt. It is just one of hundreds of "mistake titles" - look at this log and search for "mistake". — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 07:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

COM:UCommons:Commons:Upload[edit]

The result of the debate was Delete. Lenticel (talk) 01:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Soft redirect from mainspace to another project, no links, not a content page. Created 9, August 2008. Also nominated COM:UP and COM:UL. Cenarium Talk 04:10, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
