Joan Enric Vives SicíliaJoan Enric Vives Sicília[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. - Rjd0060 (talk) 03:19, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone fails at encoding -- Gurchzilla (talk) 12:49, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - Special characters in the title make this a very unlikely search term, this coupled with the fact that they are the wrong characters due to encoding issues makes this redirect totally pointless. RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 14:34, May 17, 2008 (UTC)

Has a bunch of weird characters at the end that screw stuff up -- see for example Special:Relatedchanges/Rodent's revenge‫‬‭‮‪‫‬‭‮ -- Gurchzilla (talk) 12:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Erk. I think I broke something.... :/

  • Delete. This has the famous Right-to-left mark encoded in the redirect title. It's unneeded and, as seen above, potentially harmful. Gavia immer (talk) 13:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kill it and any others like it. This could credibly be considered vandalism. Rossami (talk) 23:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as vandalism... it's incredibly hard to spell things correctly backwards. Midorihana~いいですね? はい! 06:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete vandalism --Enric Naval (talk) 09:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kill with fire - See this recent RfD discussion about similar redirects. They mess up logs and are almost impossible to search for. The definition of useless. RichardΩ612 Ɣ |ɸ 18:47, May 16, 2008 (UTC)

Chadian AmericanAfrican American[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre (talk) 13:39, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely search term: "Chadian American" not used in target article - and peoples originally from northern Chad have a distinctly different ancestry from that of southern Chad B.Wind (talk) 06:07, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Another useless redirect from the same user --Enric Naval (talk) 09:56, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - as with the other nationality redirects: unlikely search terms and set a bad precedent for millions of such useless redirs to be created. RichardΩ612 Ɣ |ɸ 18:51, May 16, 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep (assuming "Chadian" is the proper term for a native of Chad; I don't know personally.) It doesn't seem to be an implausible term to refer to an American that may have immigrated from Chad. JeremyMcCracken (talk) (contribs) 01:51, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

India, (Asia)India[edit]

The result of the debate was Delete. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:03, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo, no links. Cenarium (talk) 00:25, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - No real point to it. It's very unlikely that someone would typo that or even search it intentionally. More likely are "India (Asia)" or just "India", so yeah, delete. Regards, CycloneNimrodTalk? 18:00, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. This used to be an accepted naming convention for articles. If I remember correctly, this redirect may have been created as a result of a pagemove. (The software back then would not have recorded the pagemove in the edit history.) While I would certainly hope that the redirect is properly orphaned by now within our own systems, there may still be some outstanding external links. The redirect is not doing any harm and certainly has no possibility of confusion. Better to let it be. Rossami (talk) 21:07, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • I heard of some old odd naming convention for cities, but it was changed in late 2002 (e.g.1). I haven't found traces of such conventions for countries (no United States, America, or Russia, Asia, ...) and no more India, Asia or India (Asia). But in any case, India, (Asia) is a typo and has certainly never been used. The typo in the first edit is also incompatible with a page move. Orphaned redirects from implausible typo are deleted, this is maintenance work. There is a CSD for the recent ones, and old orphaned ones are regularly deleted per G6. I really don't see where is the problem, SimonP doesn't oppose either. Cenarium (talk) 16:32, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. To be honest I have no recollection of why I created this redirect, though I assume I must have had some reason at the time. It was made in 2004, which is a bit late for the archaic naming conventions. - SimonP (talk) 02:29, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
