Estimating Parametersestimation theory[edit]

The result of the debate was Keep. (non-admin closure) Mastrchf (t/c) 18:29, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

title is malformatted and correctly formatted title Estimating parameters exists. Pdbailey (talk) 19:14, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - very likely typo; useful search term. 147.70.242.40 (talk) 19:20, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Does this comment make any sense? If I enter a lower case where the article has an upper case, Wikipedia fixes it, so why does having both the lower and the upper help? Pdbailey (talk) 01:08, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • It does make sense (though I consider it less relevant than the history - see below). Remember that no everyone uses our search engine for navigation. The current MediaWiki search engine is case-insensitive but other ways of finding the article are not. Redirects support multiple options for alternate navigation. Rossami (talk)
  • Keep because the history documents a pagemove from 2001. This history is particularly important because it predates the changes to the software that automatically recorded the moves. This is the only remaining record of the change. While you could do a history-merger, it is not worth the effort. Nor would a history-merger resolve any existing links (which may be external to the project) to the old name. Rossami (talk) 20:47, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Minor capitalization variants are useful and don't do any harm that would justify deleting them. Gavia immer (talk) 13:15, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. because of Rossami's arguments. Thanks for explaining this to me Rossami! Pdbailey (talk) 22:45, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is completely confusing as these articles are not at all related. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amalyn02 (talkcontribs)
