December 22[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on December 22, 2008

Latvian Naval ForcesMilitary of Latvia[edit]

The result of the discussion was a non-controversial housekeeping task, deleted Latvian Naval Forces as WP:CSD#G6 and moved Latvijas Jūras spēki here as tagged. --Oxymoron83 06:55, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is using a space needed for a movement of another page, which contains all the information for this article, only with an unfitted title KasparsK (talk) 00:03, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

KDX-III Ahn Yong-Bok class destroyerKing Sejong the Great class destroyer[edit]

The result of the discussion was Kept. Alternate name used to be in article until recently removed so it's a possible search phrase. As this redirect was created via page moves, it is also possible there are still external links. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:47, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned redirect. Arbiteroftruth (talk) 21:12, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - while the nomination does not mention a valid deletion rationale (see the top of WP:RfD), the name "Yong-Bok" appears nowhere in the target article, indicating an extremely low likelihood of using the entire redirect name as a search item. B.Wind (talk) 03:14, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep a cursory Google check reveals Ahn Yong-Bok was a candidate name for this class of destroyer. [1] [2] 76.66.195.159 (talk) 07:11, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The IP appears to be right. Gavia immer (talk) 15:55, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - redirect by a now-banned user that borders on violating WP:POINT. Had this been created more recently, this could have been speedied... and still should be. B.Wind (talk) 21:33, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:MershProject Mersh[edit]

The result of the discussion was Delete all. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 16:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most of these were created when pages incorrectly created in Wikipedia namespace were moved to the article namespace. The redirects have existed since 2006 and 2007 so they does not appear to be eligible for speedy deletion as CSD R3. Most of the pages were only created by page moves, with the exception of Wikipedia:Rosetown (created as a redirect) and Greenville, North Carolina (a duplicated article, but I don't know if any content was merged). —Snigbrook 17:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all as unneeded redirects from project space. In the case of Wikipedia:Greenville, North Carolina, it doesn't appear that any material was merged, but in any case, the only substantial contributor was User:Drnc, whose only edit was to create that page. A one-line credit in the edit history should suffice to assuage any GFDL problems. Gavia immer (talk) 15:49, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:WikipedeHead37px.pngFile:Wikipedesketch1.png[edit]

The result of the discussion was Redirect removed. The redirect syntax has been removed from the page. If there is a desire for the image itself to be deleted, that needs to be taken to WP:IFD. -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:50, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unneeded cropped image MBisanz talk 15:08, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm not sure this should be at RfD – although it has the #redirect at the start it doesn't function as one, as there are two different images and when used in a page it shows the cropped version on the redirect page, not the full version on the target page. I don't oppose deletion as the image is unused. —Snigbrook 20:59, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WPP:MPWikipedia:WikiProject Philosophy/Ethics[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 16:23, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cross-namespace redirect that is not from official Wikipedia namespace (WP:MP or WP:P/E would be the appropriate redirect/short cut). B.Wind (talk) 05:08, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - the devs have been kind enough to provide us with a convenient shortcut to resolve precisely these issues. No reason not to use it. Happymelon 17:54, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cross-namespace redirect that is not from an official Wikipedia namespace (WT:VG is the appropriate redirect/short cut). B.Wind (talk) 04:46, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - the devs have been kind enough to provide us with a convenient shortcut to resolve precisely these issues. No reason not to use it. Happymelon 17:54, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: I was not even aware of such a redirect. And after looking at Special:WhatLinksHere/WPT:VG, it looks like most others aren't either. Deleting would not break that many relevant links and I don't think it will be missed. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC))[reply]

WPT:ChristianityWikipedia talk:WikiProject Christianity[edit]

The result of the discussion was Deleted. -- JLaTondre (talk) 14:49, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cross-namespace redirect that is not from an official Wikipedia namespace (WT:Christianity is the appropriate redirect/short cut). I also nominate the similar WPT:IXWikipedia talk:WikiProject Indian Christianity, with the same justification. B.Wind (talk) 04:32, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cross-namespace redirect similar to the recently-deleted WPT:OREGON (WPT: is not an official Wikipedia subspace; WT: is). I also nominate the following similar CNRs with similar justification:

March fractureMetatarsus[edit]

The result of the discussion was speedy close. No longer a redirect.--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 07:22, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

March fracture is the fatigue fracture of metarsals and not the metatarsals itself. I wanted to create an article on March fracture, but i don't know how to cancel the redirect. Ganesh Dhamodkar (Talk) 03:34, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy close. Redirect overwritten by nom with standalone article. RfD no longer applies. B.Wind (talk) 06:55, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The above is preserved as the archive of a RfD nomination. Please do not modify it.

An heroSuicide[edit]

The result of the discussion was RFD not applicable. Undeletion requests belong at WP:DRV. -- JLaTondre (talk) 13:54, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a request for undeletion by the way... By no means "deprecating" or derogatory. I'm assuming the deleting sysops had never heard the term before (AGF here). Both pages were legitimate slang redirects. It does not imply that the victim was in fact "a hero", just that the term has hit popular enough usage to get its own redirect. redirects are very small, and recreating these two pages (An hero and An Hero) is by no means controversial. Chikensrus (talk) 03:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Close and take to deletion review - requests for undeletion should go there, not here, preferably after trying to discuss it with the admin who deleted it. B.Wind (talk) 03:37, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
