The result of the debate was delete. WjBscribe 01:09, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

procedural nomination Nominated for deletion via WP:PROD when it should have come here. The deletion reasoning is "not mentioned in target", which I've confirmed. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 02:49, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Dragon (USA roller coaster)Dragon (Adventureland)[edit]

The result of the debate was delete given the newness of this redirect, it is unlikely to be needed. -- John Reaves 19:41, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another user created the wrong redirect. First, the coaster name is wrong (it's "Dragon", not "The Dragon". Secondly, WP:ROCO guidelines call for using the park's name in parentheses, not "USA Coaster", as there could be other "USA coasters" called "The Dragon". This is a new redirect that is not in use anymore since I moved the article. Rehcsif 01:45, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: if you just moved the article, then people may be expecting to find it at the old name, which makes the redirect useful, at least for the short term. Your arguments are good reasons for moving the article, but completely irrelevant to the redirect. Redirects don't have to follow the manual of style or naming guides. They simply have to be plausibly useful to someone and not harmful. Redirects are cheap. As for other articles about similarly named roller-coasters, those should be handled by creating a disambiguation page. Xtifr tälk 09:43, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I moved the article within hours of the move to this (wrong) name. If you don't mind the clutter, it won't hurt anything, but nobody will ever look for the article in this place. Even the guy who moved it was merely trying to add a second roller coaster called "The Dragon", and doesn't really care about this article. --Rehcsif 17:49, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, it only existed at this name for a few hours. Redirects are cheap, but I concede that the usefulness of this one seems extremely minimal, so I'll switch my opinion to weak delete. Though it would probably be best to notify the person who did the move, just in case. Xtifr tälk 19:54, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. General policy is to keep a redirect where a page has been moved or merged, in order to avoid breaking links from external sites or stored on people's hard drives, unless (a) the title is needed to hold another article, a redirect to another target, or a disambiguation page; or (b) the move was vandalism.
