NoNo (disambiguation)[edit]

The result of the debate was - I'm being bold and unredirecting this page, since the core issue is whether or not we should have an article about "no". I'm also opening a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. --- RockMFR 13:47, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

delete to move dab redirect target to base name since "(disambiguation)" is superfluous; see Malplaced disambiguation pages. Given the history did not want to wipe out the history abruptly JHunterJ 13:12, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The New Union 76 disk signsHeadstone[edit]

The result of the debate was deleted as joke/nonsense. -- John Reaves 21:52, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see any relation between the two. Marlith T/C 03:06, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is an effort. Im am trying to remind the community of the 76 ball crisis. It is no laughing matter, as you might take it to be. Many people loved the old signs. This is no joke. I want it to be kept. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HIYO (talkcontribs) 03:19, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Destroy All BallsDeath[edit]

The result of the debate was deleted as joke/nonsense. -- John Reaves 21:52, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is related to the preceding nomination on The New Union 76 disk signs. These two redirects are by the same editor and seem to be related to the ConocoPhillips decision to remove the Union 76 orange ball gas station signs[1]. Both redirects should be deleted vs. redirected to Union 76#The Orange Ball as they are unlikely search terms and Wikipedia is not a memorial or campaign site. In particular, this redirect is way too generic. -- JLaTondre 16:06, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BattBattery[edit]

The result of the debate was Converted to disambig. There are a number of articles on people with this name. I left Battery out of the diambig. If anyone thinks it should be included, that can be handled at the disambig's talk page by those interested. -- JLaTondre 19:17, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsensical redirect, added by a new user to turn his "Batt" redlinks blue. I first delinked his links, then waited a week before ths RFD. "Batt" was a non-notable member of the production team of some games, apparently. Arch dude 18:24, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No wikiHelp:Wikitext examples[edit]

Unused cross namespace redirect to Help: that I dont think is useful. John Vandenberg 21:33, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Shalom (HelloPeace) 16:40, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete no cross namespace redirects. Unused. Marlith T/C 17:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete cross namespace redirect. ChrisDHDR 20:55, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. It helped me find the markup I was looking for, which is surely the purpose of redirects. From a simple user's point of view technical talk about "cross namespace" is just so much blather. Who could care less? This redirect does it's job, so why not leave it alone? -Arb. 21:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. It does not seem to be a topic that exists outside of the Wikipedia markup language so I don't see a reasonable possibility of confusion. The comment above suggests that at least some users find it useful. As others have noted, our policy sets the bar for "usefulness" very low. The arguments against cross-namespace redirects are not strong enough in my opinion to justify deleting useful and non-confusing links. Rossami (talk) 19:26, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I can see the potential benefit of the redirect from Nowiki but one from this incorrect markup seems more problematic. Given that adding <no wiki> to text doesn't do anything, I think this rather has the potential to confuse. Plus the generally precedent of cutting down on unneeded cross-space redirects is in my opinion a good one. WjBscribe 18:30, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
