Cum & Go → Kum & Go[edit]
Created because of a vandalism page move. I moved the article back to Kum & Go (the correct spelling of this Midwestern convenience store chain) but see no need for this redirect. --Iowahwyman 03:01, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- agree, unless it's needed to prevent vandalism. DGG 05:44, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Creationwiki → List of wikis[edit]
Redirects to list which contains no information about creationwiki. There is no nontrivial edit history, and nothing links to it. CreationWiki (alt caps) has been deleted several times due to notability failure. -wizzard2k (C•T•D) 05:58, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- delete per nom although I suspect we will have an article again at CreationWiki soon that will stay since it picked up some press recently. JoshuaZ 22:07, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Tricky dino → List of characters in the Star Fox series[edit]
The original article had no content, much more detail can be found at the destination page. (also I dont think the title was correct) 99DBSIMLR 16:58, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thats what a redirect is for. I think it should redirect to List_of_characters_in_the_Star_Fox_series#Tricky. It would aid in accidental recreation of the no content article, as well as aid in linking (see Avoid, reason 2). -wizzard2k (C•T•D) 18:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Harbl → Penis[edit]
Internet slang term which does not get a mention in Internet slang or in List of Internet slang phrases. Redirect to penis may technically answer the question, but WP:NOT a slang dictionary, and ending on penis is a surprising result. I would delete this unless it is notable and verifiable enough to be included in List of Internet slang phrases. bikeable (talk) 18:08, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- A neologism spun out of the lolcat internet phenomenon. Suggest keeping and redirecting to lolcat, since people will likely be searching for it and creating articles/redirecting it if it's missing. The current redirect is technically the wrong answer, anyway. — Saxifrage ✎ 23:08, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Agree with Saxifrage - redirecting to lolcat is the way to go. — Swpb talk contribs 20:29, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Comment Lolcat? That article has nothing to do with the harbl slang, which is a 4chan slang for penis and is wordfiltered on Habbo Hotel. But redirect to Lolcat, why not redirect it to salsa or albania -- it would be just as related (or rather unrelated)? SakotGrimshine 23:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- In that case, the lolcats r in ur slang, redefinin' it. There might not be a good solution to it except deletion then, at this point, since there's a conflict between two non-notable meanings. If there was only one non-notable meaning, redirecting it to prevent well-meaning recreation is sensible, but not if it's going to be fought over between two camps. And, it's hardly notable enough to deserve a disambig page pointing to both lolcats and 4chan. — Saxifrage ✎ 18:01, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- This is the conclusion I came to as well, and thus I still favor deletion. Redirecting to a page like lolcat, which doesn't mention the term, is just confusing. and regarless, we are not a slang dictionary (or even worse, a collection of "see also" links for slang terms that we never define!). bikeable (talk) 00:48, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Question If harbl does get deleted as a redirect, can I then make a username with the word harbl in it and not have it banned for username policy because harbl was deemed too non-notable? SakotGrimshine 23:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Probably not, since according to Username Policy part 3, notability of the slang term is not required. -wizzard2k (C•T•D) 23:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
