see list below → Aquinas College, Perth[edit]

The result of the debate was selective delete. John Reaves (talk) 19:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive redirects to the same article. A countitis sufferer has decided to give us one of every permutation of associated words he can think of as redirects. I haven't bothered tagging each redirect as that seemed a bit silly, but place the list here for discussion and feedback. Some are remnants of previous Afd's of a number of daughter articles which were merged back into the main article. The issue has been raised with the editor several times including here and here. I've ticked the ones I think are valid. —Moondyne 05:44, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think "AC Perth" as well, but all others really should go. Westpoint especially - that's a failed finance company that's been in the news, I'm not even sure why it's pointing to a school. Orderinchaos78 12:45, 4 March 2007 (UTC) - Amended - the Black Falcon proposal seems a good and fair compromise, although I'd also delete 33-38. Orderinchaos78 07:42, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Selective delete of most of these, but do not delete any that are required to be kept per GFDL guidelines (i.e., any articles which was merged and/or moved). See WP:MERGE#How to rename a page. I will go through and italicize any that have the word "merge" or "move" in their edit histories. -- Black Falcon 05:49, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ZumacalisAqua Teen Hunger Force[edit]

The result of the debate was 'keep. John Reaves (talk) 19:19, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zumacalis is a made-up word said one time in one episode of ATHF. Has nothing to do with the show. :: ZJH (T C E) 14:21, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Whoever originally created the article was under the impression that Zumacalis was the name of a fictional swordsman, which is false, and it was changed into a redirect when it probably should have been deleted. :: ZJH (T C E) 14:25, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, redirects are cheap and this is a reasonable search term for any fan. John Reaves (talk) 20:29, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Guildford chapelGuildford Grammar School Chapel[edit]

The result of the debate was selective delete. John Reaves (talk) 19:09, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects to same article:

Surely not ALL of these redirects are necessary. I am not saying they should all be deleted but probably 3/4 should go. This is, after all, an article for a chapel within a school. DanielT5 20:06, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • 'Comment Why exactly is it that you think they should be deleted? John Reaves (talk) 00:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all but ticked items I can see three possible issues - firstly, many of them are very unlikely search items (especially considering the relatively low importance of the subject - even Perth's street directory doesn't name it [1]) (also checked paper version and it doesn't even appear in the index!), secondly, I don't think someone typing "Chapel of St Mary and St George" in any form would necessarily expect to end up at a page for a chapel belonging to a school in Perth, and thirdly, it imposes quite high maintenance obligations onto the WikiProject which is meant to support it. I agree with DanielT5 on the point above, and would suggest GGS Chapel, Ggs chapel and Guildford grammar chapel stay, and the others go. ("Guildford chapel" is a bit misleading as Guildford is a town centre, not just the school, and indeed there is a Catholic Chapel of St Mary 2 blocks away which confuses things even more) Orderinchaos78 04:23, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Thanks :) Yeah, what he said. DanielT5 13:13, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Deletion totally justified and appropriate. thewinchester 13:22, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - The chapel is notable, and all these search terms are therefore notable. The chapel is not the same thing as the school. - Richardcavell 00:28, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Problem - The Chapel of St Mary and St George (which seems to be in the list twice -... ummm) - is probably the most likely for anyone with any knowledge of GGS history and one of them? should be a keep - I do not agree with Ggs chapel as ok - most old boys would be more likely to try GGS Chapel for instance : - I say delete as per Orderinchaos78, with the variation of eliminating Ggs chapel - and replacing with The Chapel of St Mary and St George - which has been the correct title for over 60 years SatuSuro 09:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note that as Wikipedia upper cases the first letter, "Ggs chapel" == "ggs chapel" (i.e. a lazy typist), but I wouldn't object to it being deleted. Satu's suggestion of moving the entire article to The Chapel of St Mary and St George is a good one IMHO (although would need to be performed by an admin) Orderinchaos78 09:49, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Red box (disambiguation)[edit]

The result of the debate was keep. John Reaves (talk) 22:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New disambiguation page is "Red box". Nothing links to "Red box (disambiguation)" anymore. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Saintrain (talkcontribs) 21:58, 3 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

  • Keep. Redirects are cheap and there may be off-Wiki pages that still link to this title. Also if an article is reverted to a version that still uses the form "Red box (disambiguation)" for a wikilink, it will still point in the right direction. WjBscribe 01:20, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep. Intentional links to disambiguation pages are supposed to link to the page with the "disambiguation" suffix so that the incoming links sort separately when viewing "What links here". Khatru2 06:07, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Likely search term, for people who know about Wikipedia; likely link term back from the articles involved. --ais523 13:18, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
