HobidopterHelicopter[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 02:52, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Google returns only forty-nine results. I've never heard ANYONE say hobidopter, this is the first time I've seen that wording. Words can be misspelled in most ridiculous ways, this is nothing useful, just a rare misspelling. I say, delete. TheBlazikenMaster 08:31, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I saw one non-Wikipedia page that was about helicopters. --Kalmia 05:40, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. --Aarktica 13:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. All the Google hits are mirrors, as far as I can see. --- RockMFR 16:53, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Transwiki to Simple English Wikipedia. (Just kidding, delete.) BigNate37(T) 19:38, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I concur with TheBlazikenMaster. --Loukinho 00:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I doubt this is even a misspelling. It is certainly very unlikely that anyone would search for hobidopter while seeking helicopter. Euryalus 05:14, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • KEEP I have heard this used to refer to helicopters. It's mainly children that say it from what I can remember. --Kalmia 05:40, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I didn't say the articles I found wouldn't be about helicopters, I'm just saying they are only forty nine results. It might refer to helicopters, but rarily used aren't good for an encyclopedia. TheBlazikenMaster 18:28, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, implausible. SalaSkan 00:12, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Wikipedians who listen to DeathCategory:Wikipedians who listen to Death[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 02:53, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a non-standard cross-namespace redirect. There is no other similar redirect (see Special:Prefixindex/Wikipedia:Wikipedians who). The page has no useful edit history and no incoming links except those created by this nomination. Delete. Black Falcon (Talk) 02:29, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Wikipedia redirect being used as a Category redirect. We better delete it before it becomes a trend and every single category comes up with a WP: redirect misleading the users from the actual wikipedia pages. -- Loukinho 07:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Noise generated by indefinitely banned user. --Aarktica 13:54, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. It does not hurt to have the Category, but this redirect is silly and has no encyclopedic value. EdJohnston 02:13, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Redirect is both cross-namespace and unhelpful. --Rbraunwa
  • Delete as cross-namespace. SalaSkan 00:09, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abra (Pokemon)Abra evolutionary line[edit]

The result of the debate was Re-targeted to List of Pokémon (61-80)#Abra for consistency with Abra (Pokémon). -- JLaTondre 02:56, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since the evolutionary line article is about to be merged and deleted, this redirect is unnecessary. Instead, a link can be put to the list article from the disambiguation page. Zxcvbnm 16:19, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see no indication that Abra evolutionary line is about to be deleted, so Keep. If the article were deleted, then the redirects would be speedy deleted without an RfD, so I'm not sure why this RfD was created. TomTheHand 21:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Keep for the moment as mentioned by User:TomTheHand. Besides, the aticle actually explains about Abra (that doesn't have a specific article). More than that, I might add a comment warning that Abra (Pokémon) redirects to a different article compared to Abra (Pokemon). -- Loukinho 07:33, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I'm member of WikiProject Pokémon and know exactly what's going on. Abra is already on the disambig page, just retarget it to the list article. TheBlazikenMaster 08:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep unless the nominator clarifies the need for this. His explanation and the comments by others, when taken together, make no sense. The text comment at Abra (Pokemon) implies that it ought to be a redirect to Abra (Pokémon) but it is not. (This message apparently comes from {{R from title without diacritics}}). Then there is something about two different target articles, one of which is about to be deleted. Everyone, please explain what you are talking about. EdJohnston 02:24, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to List of Pokémon (61-80)#Abra, which is consistent with Abra (Pokémon) (thanks Ed). BigNate37(T) 19:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I follow this a bit better, but the two examples you gave point to different places. They lead to the same list article, but only the first one points to the #Abra entry in the list. It would be logical that the accented and unaccented forms of the Abra (Pokemon) redirect should go to the same place. EdJohnston 03:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jumbo WhalesJimmy Wales[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 02:57, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Borderline offensive and an implausible misspelling. Inspired by an earlier nom. GDonato (talk) 19:21, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom (while LOLing). —Joe Llywelyn Griffith Blakesley talk contrib 20:05, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Okay, this is implausible LOL. --- RockMFR 21:06, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • It might could be deleted, since it serves no purpose, although I daresay it's not worth the time taken to delete it. I certainly didn't intend it to be offensive.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 03:39, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. An unlikely misspellling. EdJohnston 02:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Obvious vandalism. Smokizzy (talk) 04:00, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • KEEP I think it is reasonable that someone could spell it this way after hearing the name spoken incorrectly. Also, has he put on a lot of weight? If so, then definitely keep. Possibly move to redirect to Blue Whale --Kalmia 05:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note: "Jumbo Whales" was a sockpuppet of the Communism vandal, hence this is probably more of his perpetrations. 68.39.174.238 14:13, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
