French redirects[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. WjBscribe 15:48, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects to the French Wikipedia. Haven't dealt with this much, so I'll start a thread.

Quite apart from the principle, these are not all the same:
  • Deux, trois jours avec moi is to an apparently barely notable subject--if notable, easy article to translate
  • Diplôme universitaire de technologie is to a list which could easily be created in en WP if we had a need for it,
  • Institut universitaire de technologie is to a good list which we should translate--it doesn't take much work for a list.
  • the two journalists Laurence Ferrari & Tina Kieffer should have a translation request , and also
  • Match TV We've translated articles on other TV chains & could do so here also

  • Delete all. Cross-project redirects to projects in a completely different language rarely do any good. No exception here. --- RockMFR 21:40, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inverse Ninja LawStormtrooper effect[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. WjBscribe 15:43, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Stormtrooper effect article no longer contains any information about the unsourced "Inverse Ninja Law". McGeddon 10:25, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I mistakenly created this redirect thinking they were related, but they are not (as per [1]) Bovineone 05:50, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. These are not the same organization. --Metropolitan90 07:21, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Noob SailboatNoob Saibot[edit]

The result of the debate was keep as redirect from misspelling - redirects are cheap. WjBscribe 15:45, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a non-related spelling of Noob Saibot. David Pro 21:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as it is non-encyclopedic. David Pro 21:26, 3 July 2007 (UTC) (unbolded and indented by User:BigNate37)[reply]
  • Please do not state your official position (delete/keep/etc) more than once, and if you change you mind later on, remove the boldface and strike out your original position with <s> tags. Otherwise, in this situation, you would create the impression that more people support deletion than actually do, which can be harmful to estimating consensus or lack thereof. BigNate37(T) 19:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep as a debatably plausible misspelling, and tag with {{R from misspelling}}. BigNate37(T) 19:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Redirects are cheap. Plus, (from a hidden comment at the redirect page), it actually seems to be a moderately widespread misspelling[2]. I've tagged it as BigNate suggested. Xtifr tälk 10:48, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Noob Saibot (Mortal Kombat)Noob Saibot[edit]

The result of the debate was keep. WjBscribe 00:03, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't another characters named Noob Saibot. David Pro 21:41, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Redirs are cheap/prevents accidental dupe article creation from happening again. Sohelpme 02:35, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. This isn't a good redirect. David Pro 20:50, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Possible usefulness as containing some article content in its history (I didn't check to see if it is necessary for GFDL purposes). Certainly helps prevent duplicate creation. There is the possibility of accidental linkage: for example, a list of MK characters which is missing Noob Saibot, and all current list entries have (Moral Kombat) in the name—common sense suggests adding a link to Noob Saibot (Mortal Kombat). BigNate37(T) 19:42, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep; redirects are cheap and this one doesn't hurt anything. TomTheHand 21:19, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bulldoze (band)Bulldozer (band)[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 02:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bulldoze and Bulldozer are two different bands. Bulldoze is a New York Hardcore band (http://www.aversionline.com/reviews/1213/) and Bulldozer is an Italian metal band (http://www.bnrmetal.com/groups/bull.htm). Uncle Cheech 23:09, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as incorrect. EdJohnston 02:55, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Until more appropriate target becomes available. --Aarktica 00:15, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure I understand. How can redirecting to the wrong thing be beneficial? One has nothing to do with the other. EdJohnston 20:02, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Misleading redirects are a bad idea. Having one topic redirected to another topic that is similarly spelt but nonetheless different may confuse readers. In this case a redlink indicating we have no content about Bulldoze (band) does seem best. WjBscribe 00:06, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
