Reza Pahlavi → Reza Pahlavi (disambiguation)[edit]

This redirect should be deleted to open up space to move the Reza Cyrus Pahlavi in to Reza Pahlavi. The reasons for this is that the Reza Cyrus Pahlavi article has been wrongly named this way, as:

  1. He himself does not use this name (http://www.rezapahlavi.org] and
  2. There are no sources which refer to him by this name.
  • This has been discussed many times through the talk page [1] [2] with no disagreements.

Once this redirect is over, we can move the Reza Cyrus Pahlavi article to Reza Pahlavi and put a note to the disambiguation page on the top of it. This is because Reza Pahlavi is the only person who is known with this name. Thanks. Rayis 12:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    Certainly, literally translated it means "of the Queen of the Night". Not a valid title for a wikipedia article by any means. Definite articles should be best omitted anyway, cf. Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite and indefinite articles at beginning of name). Königin der Nacht (w/o "der" or "die") would be the best redirect, no danger of mixing up case and gender. --FordPrefect42 17:16, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    In German if you talked about her, you would always say Die Königin der Nacht blah blah blah. It wouldn't appear without the article. The opera calls her by name with the definite article everywhere, if my memory is serving me right.   • Redirect to The Magic Flute (or at least Die Königin der Nacht): A few notes on the German here:
    • oe is perfectly acceptable for ö in German and is used whenever the ö symbol is missing from the keyboard or font. (Goethe is one of the few examples in German that is almost always written with the oe.)
    • If we believe that there is a chance for a whole article on the Queen of the Night, then we should redirect to Die Königin der Nacht. I think that's unlikely, since even the German wikipedia has no article for her. Therefore, I vote to redirect all these to The Magic Flute.
    • The first der is wrong; so the redirect should at least go to Die Königin der Nacht if you disagree with me on redirecting to the opera itself (queen is feminine, so it takes the feminine article die; der is masculine -- except the one before Nacht in this example, which is the feminine genitive (Queen of the Night) , yeah it's confusing, just trust me on this :))
  • Keep but correct the target. In general, redirects to correct for the inability of most english speakers to easily type an ö are perfectly reasonable - and replacement with oe is the approved spelling variant. It's not even a typo. Rossami (talk) 05:56, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
