Tyrannosaurus in Popular CultureTyrannosaurus in popular culture[edit]

The result of the debate was speedy delete as CSD R1 by After Midnight (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) [1]. BigNate37(T) 20:00, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Target article has been deleted at AFD. This qualifies as speedy but I don't see actual instructions for speedying a redirect anywhere. Maybe that can be added to an appropriate and obvious page, like this one for instance? Otto4711 19:53, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plundering of Kyiv (1018)Kiev Expedition (1018)[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. WjBscribe 08:06, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also applies to the variant (Plundering of Kiev (1018)). Unused in mainspace; unused on the web ([2], [3]) or academic literature ([4], [5]); no other reason for existing then to support some strange POV. It would be as correct and neutral as calling any battle or military operation "plunder, rape, looting" or with similar name.  Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  16:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per rationale put forth by nominator. --Aarktica 00:19, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ArumanSaruman[edit]

The result of the debate was keep. WjBscribe 03:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a conventional shorthand for the wizard character; actually refers to a Satan figure in some mythologies —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lenoxus (talkcontribs) 03:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC).[reply]

  • I grabbed my copies of The Return of the King and The Silmarillion - neither of them mentioned this variation. Then I google'd it and came across some descriptions of the animated adaptation of the series that explain this variation of the name. The Lord of the Rings (1978 film)#Screenwriting and development sums it up rather nicely. I'd recommend a disambiguation page if this name is used elsewhere. --- RockMFR 05:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I created this redirect because Saruman was renamed Aruman in the 1978 film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. It's plausible that someone who saw the film would search for "Aruman" hoping to get information about the character, so please keep the redirect. If Aruman is also a mythological figure, then the redirect should be changed to a disambiguation page or into an article with an "other uses" template at the top. —Psychonaut 10:07, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep and tag as {{R from alternative name}} as long as it's mentioned at the target, which it currently is. Of course, converting this to a dab is always an option, if anyone feels ambitious. :) Xtifr tälk 11:44, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: failing the alternate name reason, this would still be a valid typo considering it is only one letter off—though as the nom points out, there is apparently another meaning for the term so a straight {{R from misspelling}} would not be appropriate. BigNate37(T) 15:04, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Per all previous valid arguments. - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 03:26, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Project (album)The Michael W. Smith Project[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. WjBscribe 03:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are several music albums containing the name project (e.g. Housing Project (album), God's Project (album)) so there is probably no good reason for this particular redirect; it does not seem that a disambiguation page would be very helpful here either, but that would be a solution too. Template:KoreannamesTemplate:Koreanname[edit]

The result of the debate was keep. WjBscribe 08:05, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We don't need redirects to templates in the same way we need redirects to articles, and this unused redirect is merely the leftover of a completed merge. Previously listed at WP:TfD, prior discussion can be found here. PC78 11:07, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep to preserve non-trivial page history for compliance with the GFDL. We could preserve the history in a way that does not leave a redirect at Template:Koreannames, but since the redirect is not causing any harm there is no reason to do this. Additionally, deleting it will cause old versions of pages that transcluded it to display incorrectly, so while we don't have a reason to delete, we do have a reason not to delete. BigNate37(T) 15:08, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as a logical redirect from plural. Melsaran 10:52, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Herbert PocketAlec Guinness[edit]

The result of the debate was retarget to Great Expectations#Miss Havisham and her family. WjBscribe 08:08, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from a character in Dickens's Great Expectations to an actor who portrayed him in an adaptation. If it's not an actual article or a redirect to a list of characters, it shouldn't be created. Psyche825 (talk) 22:00, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
