The nominated redirect was This is not a RFD and belongs at WP:DRV instead. -- JLaTondre 01:42, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:SchmuckyTheCat nominated the former to speedy deletion, citing it was empty for more than a year (aren't {{categoryredirect}} empty at most time anyway?). Since it's a redirect and therefore naturally empty, it does not fulfil the criteria for speedy deletion, and I am moving the nomination here. I myself object its deletion. — Instantnood 21:29, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Keep deleted So, what are you trying to accomplish by listing it here now? To have it re-stored? Why bother? Take it to WP:DRV SchmuckyTheCat 21:51, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

July 12 2006 incident2006 Israel-Lebanon Conflict[edit]

The nominated redirect was Deleted. Doesn't look like anything was actually merged into either 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict or Zar'it-Ayta ash-Shab incident so no need to keep history. -- JLaTondre 00:58, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know it can't be deleted. I'm proposing to move the source somewhere (possibly 2006 Israel-Lebanon Conflict/July 12 2006 incident) and delete the redirect generated by the move. This redirect, as such, is confusing. There must be dozens of incidents which occured on July 12 2006. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 21:17, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Why can't it be deleted? It doesn't look like any of that duplicate article was used in the main article. I'm inclined to just delete. --Cyde↔Weys 01:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

U AndromedaeUpsilon Andromedae[edit]

The nominated redirect was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 00:58, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

U Andromedae is not the same as Upsilon Andromedae. The designation U Andromedae is a variable star designation that refers to a completely different star. Chaos syndrome 09:41, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep until it is overwritten with an article. —freak(talk) 14:01, Aug. 1, 2006 (UTC)
  • Delete, it's unlikely we'll write an article on this other star as there doesn't seem to be anything notable about it. The redirect still needs to be deleted, though, because it is very misleading. --Cyde↔Weys 14:05, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment How is V*U And the same as U Andromedae? The link provided in the nomination says nothing about "Andromedae". BigNate37T·C 20:39, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment SIMBAD lists variable star designations with the prefix V* (similar to how Bayer and Flamsteed designations are prefixed with *). This helps disambiguate in cases such as Mu Cephei vs MU Cephei. "And" is the three-letter abbreviation for Andromedae, as is stated on the page Andromeda (constellation). Chaos syndrome 21:57, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete or replace with a DAB. See Bayer designation, where it mentions that R xxx and beyond are variable star designations. It also mentions why U Andromedae, u Andromedae and upsilon Andromedae are not the same things. Zzzzzzzzzzz 19:10, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Polyphyric hemophiliavampire[edit]

The nominated redirect was Kept with re-target to porphyric hemophilia (and tagged {{R from misspelling}}. -- JLaTondre 00:58, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Author requests deletion. Redirect is misleading, falsely suggesting hemophilia and vampirism are related. Redirect is offensive, suggesting a connection between people with hemophilia or porphyria, and vampires. Redirect is a neologism (only 38 hits on google). - Nunh-huh 01:45, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - In the Elder Scrolls (and possibly other) mythos, vampiricism is known as "porphyric hemophilia". Not sure where the "polyphyric" came from, though. --Cyde↔Weys 05:38, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I hardly think we need a redirect for entities that exist only in a series of games. And we certainly don't need one that is an approximation to a term used only in a series of games. And we already have an "article" on that term. - Nunh-huh 16:32, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Not even "porphyria", the alleged rational basis for many vampire myths, should redirect to vampire, much less a mangling of that term. People who search for a disease should be led to an article about the disease, not to a related myth, especially one that is potentially offensive. Xoloz 03:31, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Easy keep as it stands (redirecting to porphyric hemophilia and not Vampire)—a plausible typo for "porphyric hemophilia". —BorgHunter (talk) 02:19, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
