- I hate to bring such a beautiful image here; however, the image is of an artist's sculpture housed within the United States Circa 1986 and therefor public domain can not be assertain as the United states does not have a freedom of panorama clause on artwork; even on U.S. Government property. See http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Freedom_of_panorama#United_States. This would also pertain to all images of this sculpture on the article Mountains and Clouds Calmer Waters 06:55, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Retag + FUR It is copyrightable and needs to be labeled as such. Add a fair use rationale for the article. — BQZip01 — talk 21:36, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Pixelation and perspective shape distortion indicate this is not a normal photograph, but a photograph from a large video screen or something similar. In that case, it would likely be non-free. Fut.Perf. ☼ 00:18, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I took that picture myself and it wasn't a great shot but it was ok. Then another editor retouched it like a year or two ago.Mcelite (talk) 17:54, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Promotional image of some sort. Likely copyrighted (if not, then no need for user created art). No reason given to suggest that uploader is copyright holder. FASTILYsock(TALK) 07:51, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- This user has numerous other copyright issues. Other uploads "using Rally Bulgaria 2009's official documents" have been clear copyvios; this one doesn't have the watermark but is almost certainly also a copyright violation. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:59, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- No evidence that uploader is really copyright holder. Very similar images are at [1] and [2]. Contains copyright tag. Svick (talk) 20:21, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How might I go about proving I am the copyright holder? --Meeslow (talk) 21:06, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- By sending an e-mail from e-mail address associated with the website insurgencygaming.co.uk to [email protected] stating that you own the copyright of that image and that you release it under the license you chose (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike). See also WP:IOWN. Svick (talk) 00:30, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The email has now been sent, please confirm receipt and that the image will not be removed. Thanks. --Meeslow (talk) 20:56, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I have added a template to the image page saying that the e-mail was sent. Now we have to wait until someone with an access to emails sent to Wikipedia confirms it. Svick (talk) 14:22, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How long is this process likely to take? I see that the image still has the warning label. --Meeslow (talk) 23:41, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- About two weeks. And as it so happens, the two weeks just ended and the permission has been accepted. Stifle (talk) 11:24, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
