We would eventually like to get this portal made a featured portal. Any comments to help us get there would be more than welcome. John Carter 22:06, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, John. Here are some suggestions.

  • The intro should be based on the lead article, which should be based on the name of the portal.
  • Red links should not show up on portals, especially because of a missing page from a "dated" section update system.
  • Take a look at some featured portal box footers and how they are consistently applied in terms of archives, nominations and see also layouts.
  • Fix section edit links. – Done. RichardF 04:50, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Pick a sub-subpage system and go with it. Don't mix numbers and dates.
    • If using dates, have next selection in place at least two weeks before use date. A month ahead would be better.
  • Consider adding images to Related portals.
  • Consider removing Web resources section. It leads readers out of Wikipedia.
    • Remove Commons box regardless. It's redundant. – Done. RichardF 04:50, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Consider adding smaller images in section boxes that currently are only text.
