Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:NOMORE

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the miscellaneous page below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the page's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.

The result of the discussion was Keep. There is certainly no consensus to delete but the discussion whether to redirect/merge or mark as historical/rejected does not seem to be conclusive yet either and can be continued by interested editors on the talk page. Per a point raised on my my talk page I'd like to further elaborate on above closure. The original keep keep simply reflects that over all the different aspects raised there was agreement to not simply delete the page before its content has been further discussed. I also observed that in as far the actual content has been addressed here, there are different suggestions, but taken together they amount to some mean that currently little potential for an actual policy is seen here. But that doesn't mean that this deletion discussion is the right place to also close the content discussion nor would it help to conflate bot aspects into a 'no consensus' closure. Rather, I'd like to amend this to Procedural keep for further discussion and closure. Since neither the individual keep opinions nor the closure imply support for the page in its currents state, the creator and other concerned parties may also want to consider alternatives to considering it a policy proposal.--Tikiwont (talk) 21:12, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:NOMORE[edit]

No chance of ever becoming a policy or a guideline. How can you make a new rule that you can't make new rules? Problematic guidelines are dealt with on an individual basis, and discussed on talk pages as issues arise. "there should be a really broad input about the guideline or the policy from people not previously familiar with the proposal." Does this imply that there is a Cabal creating new rules in the back rooms? I'm pretty sure new policies/guidelines are already pretty broadly discussed. • Speedy keep - mark as historical/rejected if necessary, after discussion at the talk page. Policy proposals aren't deleted. //roux   10:22, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Question is there a policy that proposals aren't deleted? I can't find it. NJGW (talk) 17:40, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Community norm, not policy. //roux   00:10, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
