Wikipedia:Civility[edit]

Wikipedia:Civility (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

This policy is a severe hindrance to the entire project. The inconsistent enforcement causes more trouble than it creates. Therefore, it should be deleted, in the best interests of all concerned. AutomaticStrikeout (TC) 04:15, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • A bit pointy and disruptive nomination.TMCk (talk) 04:25, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Our pillars are the basis of the community and the project. The fact that some people violate a policy is not a reason to abandon it entirely; we can never catch every sock of every sockmaster, either, but our socking policy stays in place, because it's for the good of the project that people be kept from abusing as much as possible. It is not in the best interests of the community to allow editors to abuse others as much as they wish, therefore any argument (as POINT-y as it may be) that it is in the best interests of the community to delete our civility policy is critically flawed. • I asploded looking at this. Can we not talk about policy now we have to delete it? (by the way that means keep) Deleting a page doesn't delete the policy... gwickwiretalkedits 04:30, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - It is one of the five pillars, which is one of what keeps the community intact. Inconsistent enforcement may cause trouble, but that can be easily fixed. The nomination's kinda pointy if you ask me. ZappaOMati 04:32, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • If I voted delete, would I get a cookie? Keep of course, nomination reeks of WP:POINT.Mitch32(The man most unlikely to drive 25 before 24.) 04:33, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Obviously, I made a poor choice (and NO, I'm not drunk). I'll withdraw the nomination now and hopefully save whatever face I have left. AutomaticStrikeout (TC) 04:36, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per A fluffernutter is a sandwich!. It is unnecessary to delete this page wherein it presents civility and fundamental policies and guidelines among us Wikipedians. Mediran (tc) 04:37, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
