All this does is add to the WP:SOAPBOX issues and the negativity to living politicians, in a way that is close to violating WP:BLP. Instead we should have userboxes that say "This user 'supports the polices and views of ___" CTJF83 21:45, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep No worse than many userboxes. And saying you "oppose" someone is scarcely close to a BLP violation. Collect (talk) 19:08, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • ....I guess not, but it is still negative, and there is enough negativity on Wikipedia already. It's definitely a SOAPBOX though. CTJF83 20:49, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The nominator says that instead people should use boxes in support of politicians they agree with, but that just doesn't work, there is not necessarily a polar opposite of the person you dislike whom you can support. Supporting candidates is just as much a SOAPBOX as opposing them, and saying you can only be positive strikes me as trying to enforce a particular POV on editors. Until a community consensus is reached on political userboxes in general, I think this box should stay as it is clearly not outside the norm. Monty845 18:46, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
