Request Information[edit]

Request made by: V. Joe 07:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the issue taking place?

Neni, although it also touches on grant (money).

Who's involved?

User:[email protected]

What's going on?

User DW posted what appeared to me a clear article of spam, so I proposed its deletion. I used a blank tablet as part of my work in editing new articles. I wasn't 100% sure so I posted it on my watch list. Only a short time later, user DW reverted my edit to remove the deletion tag. He did it twice before the different deletion tag was placed by another user User:Deltabeignet. After that, I investigated his grant (money) and discovered that he had added a large portion of the Neni article to the grants. I posted a vandalism warning about that and commented on his talk page.

What would you like to change about that?
...I think the Neni article should be deleted and that DW should be blocked from editing the "grant" page. If not, someone should tell him about the problems with that sort of link spamming. He may be innocent of intentional spamming, but the reverts are not a good sign.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
... You can use my talk page if you like, I've got nothing to hide/worry about
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case? Sure, but please limit them to articles not overly controversial at first. I'd hate to try to mediate Church of Scientology or Lyndon LaRouche.
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
...

Mediator response[edit]

Without talking to both sides first, I offer a simple solution I hope that is accepted by both sides, and will solve this without long talks.

The Article creater just needs to add information about the article, to make it a bio on the company from a Neutral Point of View. I suggest that V.Joe and other wikipedia users help User:[email protected] on how to make the article correct for wikipedia.
I also suggest putting the AfD on hold until both parties either accept or reject my Compromise offer. Tell me what you both think. Danl 08:39, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Evidence[edit]

The evidence I can find supporting V.Joe's side, if the concensus on the AfD for Neni. Everyone there believes it is a self promotion of the company. Danl 08:39, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Compromise offers[edit]

Discussion[edit]

Take I will take this case, as it seems like an easy and fairly resolvable one for my first case. If it goes well, I will list myself as a meditation cabalist. The discussion will take place at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2006-06-08_neni/Active_Discussion and I will ask for help if needed. I am going to leave a message on V. Joe, and User:[email protected] so they both know where to go for discussion.
