The Random Task vandal[a] is a IP hopping vandal, that targets martial arts related topics - especially of Karate and Taekwondo related stuff. Has been active since at least 2018 if not earlier.

The vandal mainly targets martial arts topic, namely Korean martial arts like Tang Soo Do and Taekwondo and related martial arts that became popular around 60's Karate boom like Jeet Kune Do. Entries of martial arts practitioners of these said styles are also target to this vandal.

Habitual behavior[edit]

The vandal makes damaging/non-constructive edits. Examples of these are:

  • Removing information - either outright and/or replacing it with nonsense.
  • Putting random nonsense words random location of the entry.
    • The examples of nonsense include instances of "art must be practised with ska-music" from Taekwondo entry, "It’s practioners include doormen, priests and teachers" to the Shotokan entry and "eats a lot of cheese" to the Jeet Kune Do entry.
  • On "notable practitioners" section, this vandal puts unverifiable martial artist (no entry, no citation on importance) names and/or fictional characters
  • Editing dates and spelling of martial arts and martial artists.
  • Breaking links

This vandal mainly operates with IP numbers. The only (possibly) real user name this vandal has used is User:Babak.tangsoodo, seemingly wanting to bypass the pending changes setting for the Tang Soo Do entry that was set by User:WereSpielChequers on 10 January 2021. Those starting with 64 or 66 are what he used for 10th Planet Jujutsu and the 260x ones are in Tang Soo So. Others are possibly achieved via VPN or other methods.
