Characters[edit]

Main[edit]

  • Joey (voiced by Joe Porter and Leif Grant) is a yellow skinned human with a light blue long teenage sleeved shirt, black hair, grey pants and black shoes. Joey usually spends his time either watching TV or doing housework, when he's not chasing the pencilcartoons. Despite the constant mayhem caused by the pencilcartoons, Joey has developed a sort of love–hate relationship with them, having lived with them for a long time. Whenever he finds himself alone in his house, he will eventually begin to miss the pencilcartoons along with their pranks (as seen in the episode "Priceless Pencilcartoons" and "So Lonely"/"Alone at last") followed by nothing interesting happening in his life. He also has a fear of heights, as shown in "The Rise & the Fall"/"Vertigo" – however, it only applied for Joey's dad's construction site.
  • The Pencilcartoons are a gang of three pencilcartoons named Pencilmate, Pencilmiss and Mini Pencilmate, who love playing tricks on other characters such as Joey and his dad. However, if the yellow skinned humans left, they would miss each other as seen in "Moving Out".
  • Pencilmate (voiced by Joe Porter, Ross Bollinger, Oswald Garrington, and Leif Grant) is the main antaganist throughout the series. Color: blue. He was always hungry, his appetite sometimes reaches insane proportions, often resulting in the consumption of larger animals or other things that would otherwise be inedible (such as hyenas in one case and, due to the effects of a poisonous mushroom in another case, an insect; other instances include the fish on the wallpaper in "Joey's Clone"/"Joey's Costume" and a clownfish in "Scuba Diving"). He is known to like opera, with "Night at the Opera" focusing on this aspect. Sometimes it is shown that his feet are so foul-smelling that the juice they produce is toxic and can melt objects, as seen in "Caught in a Trap"/"High Security Fridge".
  • Pencilmiss (voiced by Kesh Mesha, Ama Bollinger, Daphne Garrington, and Katie Snyder) is the tallest secondary antagonist and the middle romantic companion pencilcartoon throughout the series. Color: pink. Although, Pencilmiss originally used to love causing mischief just like Pencilmate and Mini Pencilmate, she has grown to be more laid-back as the series progressed. In most episodes, she is shown with Pencilmate as her partner-in-crime. Her hobbies are dating puppets and reading books (though never shown); she also has bad stinky breath as revealed in "It's a Small World"/"Itsy-Bitsy Joey". While her eyes changed again at one point, in "Teleportation".
  • Mini Pencilmate AKA Mini P (voiced by Joe Porter, Ross Bollinger, Oswald Garrington, and Leif Grant) is a the hyper and villainous young boy who was the leader. Color: yellow. Even though he is the shortest pencilcartoon in the group, he is the most intelligent, always being the brain in the plans, but is sometimes forced to go alone because Pencilmiss and Pencilmate often think that his plans were stupid. He loves money, but his efforts always fall short, usually ending with him getting swatted or beaten up.
  • Joey's dad (voiced by Leif Grant and Joe Porter) is Joey's yellow skinned father with black hair, dark blue long sleeved shirt with his white underwear that he wear with it inside and wears a red bowtie. He wears dark grey pants, black shoes, and black glasses. In contrast to Joey, he is more short-tempered, violent, and arrogant than him. He often finds himself building huge machinery, such as pencilcartoon-catching contraptions, and is very interested in physics and chemistry (that is, the more explosive parts of it). Joey's dad has an excellent relationship with his son, as he cares about him a lot, especially in the episode "Happy Birthday" where he tries to stop Joey from suicide. Joey's dad mostly lives and sleeps at Joey's house, and owns a green jeep in which he and Joey go for a variety of journeys, to the beach, and to go fishing. He is sometimes seen trying to propose to Hilda, but the pencilcartoons' pranks always make it stop. In one episode ("Don't Rock the Cradle"/"Joey the Babysitter"), Joey's dad and Hilda seem to have a baby together and ask Joey to babysit their child. In "Just Married", Joey's dad plans to get married but it got canceled at the end due to the pencilcartoons. In the English dub, Joey's dad is depicted as the older brother of Joey, instead.

Recurring[edit]

  • Big Guy AKA Big Red Block and/or Red Box Guy (voiced by Joe Porter, Ross Bollinger, Oswald Garrington, and Leif Grant) is a the strongest neighborhood block and Joey's neighbor who has severe anger issues with him. Color: red. Especially when Joey, Joey's dad or the pencilcartoons doing something that accidentally crushes Big Guy, shaves his rubber block or destroys his house, with him proceeding to pummel Joey or Joey's dad off-screen. Despite this, he has some sort of friendship with them, as notably seen from season 4 onwards. In addition, Big Guy also works as a police officer in several episodes. In one episode ("Back To School"), he was presented as a teacher of Joey and Joey's dad.
  • Granny (voiced by Kesh Mesha and Katie Snyder) is the least known member of Joey's family who appears in several episodes, including "Granny's Day" and "Joey's Grandma". Color: green. She appears to be very strict with Joey's mannerisms and but supports Joey and his dad with Hilda. In said episodes, she attacks the pencilcartoons, but is actually attacked by them in "Joey's Grandma", one time getting her head flattened by the lid of Joey's toilet. She also gets frequent, short-lasting bursts of energy from coffee, which aids her in defeating the pencilcartoons. In "Granny's Day", she captures Mini Pencilmate and Pencilmate, but feels sympathy for them, when Pencilmate cries on a picture of the trio with the other two crossed out.
  • Hilda (voiced by Kesh Mesha and Katie Snyder) is Joey's adventurous 11-year-old Sparrow Scout girl and his dad's daughter, the latter of whom she has a child with in "Joey the Babysitter"/"Don't Rock the Cradle"). Known for being active and likes to take on physical challenges such as sky diving and bungee jumping, she is sometimes seen rollerskating. Of all the characters, Hilda has the least appearances, although she makes a brief one in "Joey Is Getting Married", where she sits next to Big Guy. Later, she plays a major role as Joey's om's rival in the episode, "Sharing Joey".
  • Joey's mom (voiced by Kesh Mesha and Katie Snyder) is Joey's yellow skinned mother with her blue dress, grey pants, and black shoes who debuts in season 4, and becomes Joey's mother. Joey's mom is aware of the pencilcartoons' mischief, so she stops them when they are around by using some aggressive methods. In "Joey and the Not-so-Smart Bracelet", Joey's mom actually retaliates toward the pencilcartoons, strangely enough. Joey's mom cares a lot about her appearance as seen in the episode "Joey's mom's Pimple", where she refuses to leave her house when she saw a pimple on her face. In "Joey Is Getting Married", as the episode title implies, Joey's mom and her son get married after a trip to Venice, Italy and she currently becomes Joey's wife. However, their life after said marriage is not shown later in the series.
  • Lil' Miss (voiced by Kesh Mesha, Ama Bollinger, Daphne Garrington, and Katie Snyder) is the cute and a caring little girl who debuted in the episode of the same name (in season 4). Color: purple. As the pencilcartoons' new love interest (mainly Mini Pencilmate's). She lives in Joey's mom's house which Joey's mom is not aware of, and hates her for unknown reasons. She frequently attempts to use the pencilcartoons as her pawns to get what she wants or her job done.
  • Infinity Snail is the mute gastropod living in Big Guy's home as Joey who debuted in season 4. Like Big Guy, he is also strong.
  • Sarah (voiced by Ama Bollinger and Daphne Garrington) is Big Guy's daughter who debuted in season 5. She is Joey's dad's love interest, as seen in the episodes "Pencilmiss's Tournament" (where Pencilmiss also had a crush on her) and "Jackromeo and Bobette". She is seen in the episode "Emperor for a Day" as Napoleon's love interest.
  • The Policeman (voiced by Ross Bollinger and Oswald Garrington) is an unnamed human policeman who is normally seen in traffic or sometimes in Joey's area. Sometimes Joey or Joey's dad accidentally annoy him due to the cockroaches. He appears in all seasons except for the fourth, onwards.
  • The Doctor (voiced by Ross Bollinger and Oswald Garrington) is an unnamed human doctor who sometimes visits Joey's house when Oggy gets sick. In the episodes "A Dog Day's Afternoon"/"Cute Little Puppy", it is shown that he has a pet puppy. He is also shown in "Missing In Action"/"Where is the Exit?" as an artist (specifically, a painter), but no longer does appear in season 5, onward.
