Moon Knight Infobox trouble[edit]

In the Moon Knight article the later volumes (6 and legacy) aren't showing up under Publication date in the infobox, and I'm not sure why. They are there when you look at it under the Edit tab. R.A Huston (talk) 08:33, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As it says at {{Infobox comics character and_title#Specific elements}}, the template is set up for 6 versions, so the entries using the parameters numbered 7 and 8 won't show. --David Biddulph (talk) 08:56, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Florence Regional Airport[edit]

The web address for the Florence Regional Airport needs to be updated. The current address is WWW.flyflo.us — Preceding unsigned comment added by Actgdeva (talkcontribs) 13:54, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Actgdeva: Welcome! I see you managed to do this update yourself, which is great. I have left some useful links in your talk page; I hope you find them helpful. FlyingAce✈hello 16:31, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Personal page[edit]

Could somebody please tell me how to submit my own personal page that I have set up on to the Wikipedia website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bregawn83 (talkcontribs) 13:56, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody please tell me how to submit my own personal page that I have set up on to the Wikipedia website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bregawn83 (talkcontribs) 13:57, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bregawn83: If you're talking about User:Bregawn83/sandbox, there's a couple of problems:
- No one owns any page here. It is not your personal page but a page you created about Graham Bradley on our site. The page Personal web page is our article about personal webpages -- trying to replace that article with an article about Bradley makes no sense.
- Before the draft you wrote can become an article, you need to cite at least three professionally-published mainstream academic or journalistic sources that are primarily and specifically about Bradley but not affiliated with nor dependent upon him.
I highly recommend you start over following the instructions at User:Ian.thomson/Howto instead, using these three sources: the Independent, BBC Panorama, BBC Sport.
As it is, the draft you have written would only be rejected if put up for review or deleted if moved to article space. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:07, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)Bregawn83 In short - don't. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia which contains articles about notable topics. If your "own personal page" is autobiographical we strongly discourage you from adding it to the encyclopedia. Any article you add should be supported by citations to reliable sources. Editors are allowed to have a userpage, which is not part of the encyclopedia, and limited autobiographical content is allowed there, but keep in mind the primary purpose of the userpage is to introduce yourself to other editors and facilitate collaborative editing. I have noticed the content in your sandbox, which you also tried to add to the article Personal web page. If you think Wikipedia should have an article about Graham Bradley, and you yourself are not Graham Bradley and do not have a conflict of interest in writing about Graham Bradley, then continue to work on the article in your sandbox and add citations to reliable sources as I mentioned above. When you think the article is ready, put {{subst:Submit}} on top of the page and someone will review it to determine if it is acceptable to be added to the encyclopedia. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 14:10, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How to deal with an IP editor that appears to be making the same edits as a blocked registered account?[edit]

Hello all, I have not encountered this before so I am seeking advice on how to deal with this. Recently, an IP editor has been making some original research/synthesis edits to the pages Military Classic of the South and Cadet Honor Code. They're quite POV as well, as it appears he's attempting to promote VMI at the expense of The Citadel.

When I reverted them, he reverted back, but I chalked that up to inexperience and attempted to engage him on talk pages. Just now, however, I discovered, in the histories of the articles in question, very similar edits (some verbatim) were made by User:Strgzr1, an account that was blocked for abusing multiple accounts. How should I proceed at this point? Any help is appreciated, thank you! Ewen Douglas (talk) 14:44, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Go to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations and click on "How to open an investigaton" and follow the instructions there. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 15:10, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I had considered that, but I wasn't sure if I needed more evidence than what I currently have to open an investigation. Ewen Douglas (talk) 15:29, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It appears the problem has been taken care of by an admin! Thank you very much indeed. Ewen Douglas (talk) 15:46, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

sabotage of profile: Request Edit[edit]

Hi Wikipedia, I am Liz Allen, the Irish investigative journalist and author. This summer, I was the subject of a reputational sabotage campaign by an individual who defrauded me of significant funds. Then I noticed that after years on Wikipedia, my profile was sabotaged significantly. Then this week, I noted that when I do a Google search of Liz Allen Irish Journalist, I see that a picture of an individual who is not me has been placed beside me when I come up in a Google search on the right hand side of the search results. Can somebody please help me and explain. The information removed related to my career achievements and are all available in a Google search as verification. Many thanks, Liz — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.16.211.18 (talk) 14:49, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information, but Google's Knowledge Graph has a "Feedback" link where anyone can mark a field as wrong. The same feedback facility is also provided on Bing and some other search engines. - X201 (talk) 14:58, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to asking Google to fix it's error, you can also help us improve the Wikipedia article. Since you have an unavoidable conflict of interest (WP:COI), we ask that you do not edit the article directly, except to remove unreferenced false information. For other improvements, make suggestions on the article's talk page in a new section. You must include references to reliable sources (WP:RS). Also, we are fairly sure that Google will use a Wikipedia picture in preference to other pictures, so you may choose to add a picture of your self to our article. This process is a bit tedious, but it starts with you having a picture to which you own the copyright, as an image on your computer. Come back here for help if you wish to do this. -Arch dude (talk) 16:10, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see that there has been any vandalism of the Liz Allen article here. Two very experienced editors have recently removed promotional text and unsourced material, but that's what they are supposed to do to maintain the integrity of the article with properly sourced content Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:33, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I see that some of the unsourced material that was removed was posted by you. Please read what was said above about not editing the page directly yourself. This isn't Facebook, you can't just post what you like here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:39, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'll echo Arch Dude's helpful suggestion. Since there's no photo in your article, Google grabbed one of another journalist named Liz Allen.[[1]]. Here's info for how to do this. Wikipedia:Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries. Once you've uploaded an image and sent the corresponding permission email, let me know on my talk page and I'll add it to the article for you. Thanks Afshaan Memon Koyal.pk — Preceding unsigned comment added by Koyal.pk (talkcontribs) 17:21, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Koyal.pk: Unless you are sure that the subject is notable by our definition, not yours (see WP:NCORP) then you should not proceed, as it will only end in frustration for you and extra work for us as we delete your article. If you can demonstrate that the subject meets the notability requirements, then proceed to WP:YFA. Yes, you can create a proposed article yourself, You must then depend on a reviewer to verify that it is objective and that it meets our other criteria before it is moved into Wikipedia proper. As a separate issue, your user name does not meet our requirements (WP:USERNAME) because it is the name for a group, not an individual. After you create your individual account, then look at WP:PAID: you will need to disclose your relationship with the company. If all of this seems overly restrictive, then ask yourself what rules you would want us to apply to an article on a subject that you as a reader are interested in. -Arch dude (talk) 20:29, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Koyal.pk, campaigning for the article to be written is not the way to go about this. If the service is notable enough (see WP:NOTABILITY) for an article, then it may be written in due time by a volunteer who is interested in the subject. You can put the name of the service on the requested articles page. Wikipedia is not a directory of all services out in the world. Keep that in mind and please read over the links I've provided. †dismas†|(talk) 20:18, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Graph won’t display[edit]

This graph won’t display on my screen. I’ve never had this problem before, so it seems unlikely that there’s a fault with my browser. Can someone fix the picture? Thanks. Loraof (talk) 18:14, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Commons version is at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Average_and_marginal_revenue.svg . There's a better version at https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/07/Average_and_marginal_revenue.svg . (I've no idea what's going on here.) Maproom (talk) 18:31, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As described at c:Help:SVG#librsvg, svg files are served rasterized to png. Apparently there is a problem with the rasterization. Perhaps some workaround is needed for correct rasterization. —teb728 t c 18:56, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a way to include the better version https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/07/Average_and_marginal_revenue.svg
in the article Marginal revenue? Loraof (talk) 21:05, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Loraof, Maproom, and Teb728: I have uploaded another version of the file. It does not contain the <style> section but instead all formatting styles are inlined into the graphic objects' definitions, similary to the original File:Costcurve - Marginal Cost 2.svg. Please see if that helped. --CiaPan (talk) 22:58, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I don’t understand. The file you link to is a different graph – “Cost curve–marginal cost” rather than “Average and marginal revenue”. How do I get to the current version of the latter? Thanks. Loraof (talk) 23:18, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Loraof: You don't have to 'get to the current version'. It just sits here: File:Average and marginal revenue.svg. --CiaPan (talk) 00:21, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have gotten it to display correctly by eliminating “upright=2” from the display instructions. Loraof (talk) 23:34, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Loraof: The upright parameter doesn't seem to have anything to do with lines' visibility. Please verify the page version special:permalink/880852079 before your change. --CiaPan (talk) 00:18, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in the article Marginal revenue, if I put the upright=2 back in the lines don’t display, while if I leave it out they do display. So I’m leaving it out. Problem solved. Thanks. Loraof (talk) 00:52, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
