IN CONTRAVENTION OF WIKIPEDIA's stated referencing of sources POLICY, SOME EDITOR going by the THE NAME OF J F DERRY HAS most recently PUBLISHED STATEMENTS ABOUT PUBLISHED RESEARCH ON YOUR Patrick Matthew PAGE. He has referenced a blog site only for his sources and his own claimed private email conversations. Many of the claims made from the blog site he quotes and references are, arguably, completely misleading. Please can this be sorted out by an objective Wikipedia n accordance with Wikipedia referencing guidelines - and requirement of interdependently verifiable evidence.

I looked through all the editor's recent additions and agree with General Ization that there is little that gives obvious cause for concern. If you could indicate which edits you are feel are problematical it could be discussed further. However, this really is a content dispute and concerns should be raised on the article talk page or that of the other editor. Eagleash (talk) 12:23, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

A disproportionate amount of the article seems to be about a recent scholarly dispute involving someone called Sutton, whose name appears 39 times. I believe the article could be improved by deleting most or all of this material. Maproom (talk) 13:46, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Mike Sutton (criminologist) is the 'someone' in question. The amount of coverage of that aspect does seem a bit undue. Eagleash (talk)

Yes, and (as I noted on the talk page) it seems quite interesting and relevant that the IP address above is geolocated at the university where Sutton works. NAFEC, the William J. Hughes Technical Center and the Atlantic City Airport are located mostly in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey not in Galloway Township as indicated in the below Wikipedia entry. It is the Egg Harbor Township Police Department that provides services to these locations not the Galloway Township Police.

The National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center (NAFEC) was founded July 1, 1958, by the Airways Modernization Board (AMB) and located in Galloway Township, New Jersey, near Atlantic City, New Jersey. On November 1, 1959, after passage of the Federal Aviation Act of 1958, it came under the newly created US Federal Aviation Agency (FAA).[1] Its purpose was to conduct research and development on air traffic control computers, transponders, and advanced radar equipment. I note also that there is overlap between the article queried and the article William J. Hughes Technical Center, which also specifies Galloway Township. One point that occurs, the queried article effectively states that the NAFEC was located in Galloway Township in 1958; the OP claims that it (renamed) is now in Egg Harbour Township – might boundaries have changed in the intervening 59 years? {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.217.208.38 (talk) 13:30, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi, Jzsj. The answer is that you don't. You are permitted to remove material from your own User Talk page (though archiving it is generally preferred), but material should noramlly be removed from other talk pages only when it is contrary to Wikipedia's policies (eg copyright violation or personal attacks). Otherwise talk page discussions are left in situ as a record. See WP:REDACT. --ColinFine (talk) 15:53, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Wiki markup to generate something like this? (see below)

Hello, I am wondering how to generate a box with a dashed outline and code-like font. To know what I am talking about, see this page under "Easy examples": https://web.archive.org/web/20131102203944/http://www.upsb.info/wiki/index.php?title=Combo_transformation#Easy_examples

It seems like it may be advanced text formatting. There is a background color, dashed outline, particular font size, and the wiki edit font. Do I have to do something similar to:

padding: 1em;
border: 1px dashed #2f6fab;
color: black;
background-color: #f9f9f9;
line-height: 1.1em;

RESOLVED: I managed to reverse engineer an HTML box thing I found on another wiki to create my own. Confusing and not sure if there is redundant code in the markup, but it should do the trick. 104.10.252.77 (talk) 20:34, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

It's a styling for text in <pre>...</pre> or lines starting with spaces. Wikipedia was previously styled like your link but has changed to the below. Maybe it was a default styling in the MediaWiki software. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:55, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Query about Category of 2017 deathts

Why is it that if one goes to Category: 2017 deaths some names are put into months of their death, whereas other names just appear on a general list? Vorbee (talk) 19:35, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

@Vorbee: Category: 2017 deaths is a category. Categories can only contain pages which are added to the category by editing the page. Deaths in January 2017 is a list which is just a type of article and completely different from a category. There are no categories for deaths by month. Lots of people with biographies are both in the yearly category and one of the monthly lists. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:44, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
