ok so how do I move my article from sandbox to the main page of Wikipedia?? its called the EMPIRE OF MANKIND ITS IN MY SANDBOX ITS NOT READY I WAS JUST WONDERING Devonte1992 (talk) 03:34, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:MOVE. Basically, you click the "move" link at the top of the page, specify the page's new name, and save. You have to be autoconfirmed in order to move pages, and that requires your account to be several days old and to have made 10+ edits. Obviously your account is old enough, so you just need to make a few more edits. However, please don't move User:Devonte1992/sandbox — this quite obviously isn't actual history, and whether it's a joke or an outright hoax, it's not something that belongs in a Wikipedia article. Hi, Devonte1992. I haven't looked at your draft; but I would always advise an inexperienced editor not to move a draft to mainspace themselves, but to request review of if by adding {{subst:submit}} (with the the curly brackets) to the top of it.It may take a few days or weeks before somebody reviews it, but you will get feedback if it is not acceptable, and if it is, the reviewer will look after moving it and sorting out any naming issues which might arise. We saw it because you asked a question about it. If you don't want anyone to see it, add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page to register a user request for deletion. Nepal From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[edit]

The second sentence from the second paragraph starts with "It is separated from Bangladesh...." which I think gives two meanings for those who understand and speak English but not so fluent in it. And I have dealt it with people who misunderstood it, but I couldn't satisfy them with my answers and references! They would just tell me to open Wiki page of Nepal and read that Sentence/Phrase. My little suggestion to Wikipedia would be, this part; " It is separated from Bangladesh...." must be changed into something easy to understand for everyone, so it never starts a bet/debate or any misunderstandings/quarrel etc.!

Pageview analysis[edit]

Does Pageview analysis, for example, https://tools.wmflabs.org/pageviews/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&range=latest-20&pages=Narcissism give the number of hits per day (including multiple hits by the same user) or the number of hits per day (where multiple hits by the same user during that day are only counted once) ? --Penbat (talk) 10:11, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only edit by your IP address and I don't know what "my proposal" refers to. If you are citing Wikipedia in a work outside Wikipedia then see Wikipedia:Citing Wikipedia. You can include a UTC clock in the top line of your Wikipedia screen by clicking Preferences → Gadgets → Appearance and then checking the second line:- "Add a clock to the personal toolbar that displays the current time in UTC and provides a link to purge the current page" - Arjayay (talk) 13:07, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Jerome1770: They are in UTC by default. Logged in users can change it at "Time zone" at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-rendering. The setting does not apply to timestamps in signatures because they are saved in the wikitext and not generated on request by the software. Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets has: "Change UTC-based times and dates, such as those used in signatures, to be relative to local time". It requires JavaScript. If you find things in any article which you think can be improved, you are welcome to edit the article to correct them, or else to post a message on the article's talk page (every article has a talk page, though in some cases it has not yet been created, and you may create it). Use of a custom infobox within an article[edit]

Hello Helpdesk. Most of this message was previously posted at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions#Use of a custom infobox within an article. I am asking here (and not at Template talk:Infobox, WP:TFD, or WP:PUMPTECH as suggested by Jmcgnh) because I want to first confirm the use of infoboxes within an article before I embark on the development of the infobox itself. This is a Wikipedia:Manual of Style matter and not a programming question. My query (repeated):

I am drafting an article at Draft:Open energy system models and wonder if it is appropriate to develop and use a custom infobox to summarize the key attributes of the models I am describing? I have a prototype template at User:RobbieIanMorrison/energy model and an example of its use at User:RobbieIanMorrison/sandbox/work in progress 7. I think I have seen this method on a page describing software licenses (but could not find it again). I also looked through the Wikipedia documentation but could not see anything confirming or banning this usage. Is this practice acceptable? If so, do you have any advice on its development and application?

Hi RobbieIanMorrison, as per Help:Infobox, "The use of infoboxes is neither required nor prohibited for any article. Whether to include an infobox, which infobox to include, and which parts of the infobox to use, is determined through discussion and consensus among the editors at each individual article." In my opinion, your infobox development is quite okay as it's not impinging on any mos issue or our editorial guidelines on the face of it. Just one suggestion (that is, if you've not already done this), give a quick read to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes on the design aspect of your infobox. Hope this helps. Angry Birds Article Assault[edit]

Two users, "Galatz" and "The1337Gamer", are flying around the Angry Birds articles and intentionally removing the tables containing valuable information about the game's worlds and characters, calling them "gameguides" and "cheats". I am persistently placing them back up, on to be dismayed to see them taken down and crude remarks left at me by the two. The reasons have been explained to you at both User talk:The1337gamer#Angry Birds and User talk:Galatz#Angry birds. These replies referred to the discussion at Talk:Angry Birds POP!#Level tables a discussion which included 3 other editors, including a sysop. Consensus is against you and declaring "I'm going to stand my ground and keep reposting the tables" will only get you blocked.
Please note User:Galatz stated "I thought it should stay, but there was a consensus it shouldn't, which means it gets removed, very simple" - he may not like, but accepts, the consensus, and you need to do the same. - Arjayay (talk) 15:14, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page move déjà vu[edit]

If having trouble understanding the page move log for May 1–2, 2008, tornado outbreak. If I'm reading it correctly, Dicklyon moved the page back in 2013, and then I made the exact same move three years later without anyone else moving the page in the meantime, which seems impossible. BD2412 moved the page back to May 1–2, 2008 tornado outbreak in November 2013. The reverse moves only show up on the other page's log. Sarahj2107 (talk) 15:49, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Bluebell78: Did you stop it on the "x" or close the browser? The start of Mission 1 says: "Don't [x] out. This box is your spacesuit: if you close it before completing a mission, you leave the adventure and need to restart the mission from the beginning."
