Adding my name to an article[edit]

Hello, I'm the artist who created the CDC's Zombie apocalypse graphic novel called "Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic. I noticed in the following article about zombies in government media, that my name and my fellow artists were not mentioned. If possible, I'd like to have our names included.

The article is: Zombie#Zombie apocalypse

Illustrated by Bob Hobbs, Colored by Alissa Eckert and Lettered by Mark Conner.

Proof of my claim can be found in this excerpt from another Wikepedia article:

"In October 2011, the CDC published a Zombie Pandemic graphic novella created by fantasy artist Bob Hobbs (layouts, pencils and inks), Alissa Eckert (coloring) and Mark Conner (lettering, assembly). [13]"

Hello! The section in the Zombie article has a link to Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse, and that page clearly lists your name and the names of the others involved. I think that the illustrator information is a bit too specific to be included in the main Zombie article, as the book itself is only being touched on briefly in that article. Dhudhi[edit]

Article information

Dhudhi Rajput are a tribe of Parmar Panwar Rajput origin, found in the Punjab Pakistan province of Pakistan. According to the 1931 census of India they had a population of 5,800. The Dhudhi have traditions of migration from Malwa in Central India. Dhudhi, the ancestor of the tribe was said to be a kinsman of Parmar ruler Raja Bhoj of Ujjain, and said to have migrated with his family to Punjab, and conversion to Islam is said to have occurred at hands of the Sufi Bahaudin Zakaria..

History

Lt. Col. J.M. Wikeley Second Edition The Book House, Sir Denzil Ibbetson, Sir Edward Maclagan and H. A. Rose write in their book A Glossary of The Tribes and Castes of The Punjab and North-West Frontier Province Vol.-III (First Ed. 1911, Re-published by Aziz Publishers, Lahore, Pakistan in 1978 ) that Dhudhi areParmarRajput found along the banks of the Sutlej and Chenab. They are supposed to have come originally from Multan. They are said to be "fair agriculturists and respectable members of society". The original seat of the Dhudhi tribe was Mailsi in Vehari District, where they are mentioned as early as the first half of the 14th Century. When the Delhi Sultanate was breaking up they spread along the Sutlej and Chenab. One of them, Haji Sher Mohammadwas a saint whose shrine is in Multan Division in District Burewala Mouza Dewan Sahibis still renowned. Famous Muslim saint Shah Hussainrenowned as Madhu Lal Hussainalso belongs to this clan. Dhudhis are usually Muslims.

Faisalabad, Kasur, ,Okara,Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib,Rajanpur, Lodhran, Khanewal, Toba Tek Singh,Chakwal,Gujrat, Sialkot, Sargodha, Jhang, Multan, Sahiwal,pakpattan, Jhelum, Vehari, Khanewal District Kabirwala,Bahawalpur and the Bahawalnagar districts.

Dhudhi Villages in North Punjab

Starting with Gujrat District, they are found in the village of Ghansia, in neighbouring Jhelum District, their villages include Saeela, Dhok Sir, Lota, Dhok Masyal, Dhok Munawar and Dhok Dheri in Dina Tehsil and Toba, Golpur, Karyala Jalap (which they share with the Jalap tribe) and Dhudhi Thal in Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil. While in Chakwal District, they are found in the village of Khokhar Zer.

Moving south towards Sargodha

They are found in Dhudhi in Sahiwal Tehsil and Dhudhian in Kot Momin Tehsil.

North of Sargodha

In Mandi Bahauddin District, they are found in Bhagat and Kadher.

In Faisalbad District

Chak No 214/Rb Dhudhi Wala,Faisalabad

In Bhakkar District

Important Dhudhi villages include Chak 56/DB ,Chak 72/ML, Jandanwala Kalur Koot and Karloowala.they are also found in Basti Cheena and Basti Dhudianwala.

In Khushab District

Khushab city, Jauharabad, Quaidabad,Noor Pur Thal And also in Ukhli mohla, Rahdari Pillow and Waince.

In Mianwali District

Kundian.Mianwali city

Dhudhi villages in South Punjab

Starting with Jhang District in south Punjab, Dhudhi villages include Boori Dhudhian, Dhudhiwala, Kapoori near Gharmor and Darbar Bahu Sultan.

In the Pakpattan district Dhudhi villages include Chak14/SP, Chak 27/SP,and Bateenga.

There are two villages in Hafizabad District

Sukheke Mandi and Dubber.

In Lodhran District

They are found in Chah Maniwala near Dunyapur..

@Vulejijo: Firstly, welcome to Wikipedia. Second, the article in question (Draft:Credit Research Initiative) does not fulfill Wikipedia's notability standards for organizations. In addition, we need reliable sources that are not published by the company itself in order to verify the article. At the moment, the article does not meet these standards and therefore can be deleted at any time. I can move the article into the draft namespace so you can continue working on it if you want. Once you feel you have added the appropriate information you can submit it to articles for creation so they can double check to make sure the standards have been met. how to get a link to a past article version[edit]

Regarding my recent Audiopedia question.

....they would need to provide a link to the original page history, or the original Wikipedia page, which itself has a link to the history. A permalink to the version they used would be preferable....DES (talk) 18:26, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

How could a link to the original page history, or the original Wikipedia page or a permalink to the version used, be provided?

I can only find providing the link to the current article, which contains a tab for the article history.

If someone reuses a page from the past, example the article version from June 1 2015, how can a link to the June 1 2015 page be provided? I see articles have version #s in the history-compare differences, but the history tab list does not give the link,

Just click the 'History' tab to open the article's revisions history — for example, this is a history of this page:

I am having a bad evening! Caribpolitan[edit]

Hello, I've tried to publish the article below on wiki--an entry for the term Caribpolitan. It was deleted for reason A7: Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject.

Caribpolitan is similar to the term Afropolitan, which is listed on wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afropolitan

CARIBPOLITAN /‘KAR-IB-POL-I-TAN/ is a term constructed from “Caribbean” and the Greek root “-polis”, which means city, citizenship or body of people. A Caribpolitan is a person of West Indian origin/descent living in a diasporic metropolitan community outside of the Caribbean. Examples of such urban centers with large numbers of peoples of Caribbean extraction include Flatbush, Brooklyn, USA; Miami, Florida, USA; Brampton, Canada; and Brixton, London, UK. For most Caribbean immigrants, their first encounters with neighboring islanders take place in these diasporic enclaves, and the similarities are undeniable. As a united people, Caribpolitans successfully transform and navigate spaces in metropoles while infusing unique Caribbean culture and ethos.

The term Caribpolitan was coined in 2015 by Shelley Vidia Worrell, founder and chief Curator of New York City-based non-profit organization CaribBEING, whose mission is to build community through the lens of Caribbean cinema, culture and art. It is similar to the terms Afropolitan and Negropolitan, but more geo-specific. Worrell, who is Brooklyn-born and of Trinidadian descent, describes her inspiration for the term: “[As someone] born here to Caribbean parents and travelling back and forth between the U.S. and the Caribbean, I’ve always felt this gap like you didn’t have the full American identity or this full Caribbean identity. I felt it was very important to start to define what that could look like. It started off with my own personal introspection quest for knowledge.” The term Caribpolitan has since been propagated via social media and adopted by many other people.

In 2015, CaribBEING launched an initiative called Close(r) Encounters: The Caribpolitan Experience, under the creative direction and leadership of Natalya Mills-Mayrena and Shelley Vidia Worrell. With the view of New York being “itself one of the largest Caribbean cities [in the world]”, the mission of this initiative is to contextualize and preserve the cultural literacy of Caribpolitan New Yorkers while redefining the Caribbean immigrant experience. The various events associated with Close(r) Encounters: The Caribpolitan Experience highlight the importance of embracing complex identities and cultivating social cohesion while still maintaining the idea of “back home”. Programming included a Caribbean film series at the Brooklyn Museum showcasing contemporary Caribbean cinema; an online exhibition and panel discussion in association with the Lower East Side Tenement Museum featuring interviews recounting tales of contemporary and historic immigration, and exploring Caribbean American identity; and re’Present!, a multimedia project designed to capture and document diverse stories of New York City’s Caribpolitan community with a focus on Brooklyn.

You should probably ask Bbb23, who is the administrator who deleted the page. Assuming the page was similar to what you posted above, A7 should not not apply as the article was not about "a company, corporation or organization." As for the sources you have posted, don't use Twitter as a source. I agree that the above content, if in an article, shouldn't be an A7 deletion. If Bbb23 doesn't agree you could go to WP:REFUND to ask for un-deletion. However, to have an article on a term on Wikipedia, we need significant evidence that the term is in use by published reliable sources other than the person or organization that coined the term, particularly if it is recent. I think the above, while a good start, would not be enough. Additional sources would be needed. While there are cases where Twitter can be used as a source for a statement sourced directly to the person who posted it, it is at best only reliable that that named person wrote that tweet. Julie rules, I just looked at the deleted version. It did not have the text above, merely the references with no text at all. It might well have looked like an article, and a very sparse one, about the organization "caribbeing".

I urge that you start over, using the article wizard again, but going to draft space and the articles for creation process instead of directly into mainspace. @Editormallu: I am assuming you mean Pisharikavu Temple and Pisharikavu. The protocol when there is a duplicate is to delete the more recent one under the A10 critera for speedy deletion. --Stabila711 (talk) 18:09, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@TheRedPenOfDoom: It looks like Pisharikavu Temple is the more recent one and before the OP copied the information from Pisharikavu it only contained the opening line with a single ref. Alright so I salvaged the ref from Pisharikavu Temple and placed it in the same spot it was in on Pisharikavu. I then tagged Pisharikavu Temple A10. Once the article is deleted Pisharikavu can be moved if necessary. --Stabila711 (talk) 18:36, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've declined the speedy (the article doesn't, I think, qualify as "recently created article with no relevant page history") and redirected Pisharikavu Temple to Pisharikavu. If anyone thinks that the redirect should run in the opposite direction, he or she is free to make it so. Spam blacklist[edit]

Ok, thanks. I think I figured it out. MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist/archives/February 2011#Google Search Cache with IP. That said, I'm trying to link to a pdf that comes up with a google search for "sending loudness rating". Clicking on the link opens the pdf in acrobat, and the only url I can find for it seems to be the google search cach. Easiest way that I've found to get the URL for a PDF or DOC that is found in google. Select the little down arrow that has Cached in it and instead select "related". It will go to a search page for related pages. The search box will look like related:www.foobar.com/whatever.pdf , just remove the related: and add http://. Ok. Is this picture already uploaded or is it in your possession? Did you take it yourself or did you get it from somewhere? Is it a copyrighted image or is it in the public domain? If it is already uploaded you would link to it the same way you link to anything on wikipedia, with brackets ( [[ ]] ). So to place the file test.jpg, you would do [[File:test.jpg]].
