October 15[edit]

someone has recently died[edit]

Please tell me how to move a biography for a living person to a biography of a deceased person.

Please see Neil J. Campbell Canadian Oceanographer.

He recently died and I have updated his BIO.

Many Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by BobJones421 (talkcontribs) 11:47, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the "living people" category from the bottom of the article. Maproom (talk) 12:07, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@BobJones421: but there are multiple other serious issues that need to be addressed including establishing that the subject meets the basic criteria for having an article in the first place and the fact that most of the content appears to be cut and paste copyright violation. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:00, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have tagged it for speedy deletion as a copyvio, it's far too close to this.--ukexpat (talk) 13:26, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Does WP:TRANSLATE help?--ukexpat (talk) 12:08, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This is the help desk for English-language Wikipedia. Your question is best asked at the help desk (assuming there is one) of Tamil-language Wikipedia. They may have different guidelines there about creating articles - all Wikipedias do things in their own ways. You are of course free to translate the English-language article and use its content there. Maproom (talk) 12:15, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Vijayganesh.s1996 - the Tamil Help Desk is the best place to get assistance. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 16:15, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:Translate us is more appropriate to this question. --ColinFine (talk) 16:19, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The use of Wikipedia free articles in ,y book.[edit]

I'm writing a book about my time as an air traffic controller at Edwards AFB, CA, 1955-1959. I learned through your articles that most of the Test Pilots have a very interesting background. Most were Aces during WW II &/or the Korean War. I worked them while working in the control tower. We lost sever pilots while I was there. I find that with you help I am better at bring attention to . This also includes the Seven Original Astronauts.

I will visit EDW AFB Historian, & others, to see if they have some information that I can use with their permission. I will give you a plug & mention in the book where I located my information.

Will you give me permission to use material from Wikipedia?

Hi everyone! Facing a little problem in editing. In the wikipedia article on "Conduct disorder" I have added reference number 46 but there seems to be a problem with the ???date. I am not sure of what it is. Can someone help me out?

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raysujoy8 (talkcontribs) 14:24, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In the error message, words in blue are wikilinks to help pages, in this case to Help:CS1 errors#bad date where it explains about acceptable and unacceptable date formats. I've corrected it for you. --David Biddulph (talk) 14:34, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You need to go to the Tamil wikipedia, https://ta.wikipedia.org You should ask for help there, their help desk can be found at ta:விக்கிப்பீடியா:ஒத்தாசைப் பக்கம். also see answers in the section above where you asked the same question. GB fan 17:48, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Bobcats in the Pros: You are missing Jim Kalafat, LB 1987 LA Rams and Jim Kalafat, LB 1985 C.F.L. Toronto Argonaunts.

Please make these two corrections. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.82.162.192 (talk) 17:55, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Put the suggested edits on the article talk page. If you have reliable sources for his professional career, you can edit the article yourself with references. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:03, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
