Referencing errors on Harpy Eagle[edit]

Reference help requested.

I understand I might have edited the page in a way that interferes with the references. How can I fix this?

You need to move the "<ref>http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Haast's_Eagle#p00cl8kf</ref>" so that the "<ref>" is to the left of the end of the sentence you want to source. It now[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=591352508] appears after the {{Reflist|30em}}, so Reflist cannot see it. -- Jreferee (talk) 02:08, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(e/c)I used the toolbar to fill in some of the citation details and took out the ref tags so that it can sit after the reflist without causing a warning. Information Clarification on Courtice Ontario[edit]

I served as Ward 1 Durham Regional Councillor from 1988-1997. I also resided in Courtice.The mail problem was this. We had a rapidly developing area with residents mail being delivered to the city of Oshawa or Bowmanville. A motion was passed by the then Newcastle council to negotiate a Courtice address and delivery. How was this done? I brought a motion before council to negotiate this. Supported by council the Director of Planning and I met Officials of Canada Post in Toronto and negotiated this change. I am the direct source. I now make my home in Florida. Larry C. Hannah

Notability and tourism sites[edit]

I'm trying to help an editor establish notability in his AfC submission about a brewery and he asked a question I hadn't really thought about. Would this help establish notability? It's a tourism site for the town the brewery is located in and covers its history - I can honestly see two lines of reasoning here, and so I figured I should seek some advice. Part of me worries that the source is too closely related to help establish notability ('Come to X we have y!') and another part thinks that if the town considers this brewery important enough to be a tourist draw, that it should kind of mean something. My own views only: some tourist guides are honestly written in the interests of tourists, but many preferentially mention the businesses which have sponsored their production. We can't be sure about this one, so I would prefer to avoid it. Maproom (talk) 10:02, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

content of page "Dinas Island"[edit]

The page on Dinas Island is unacurate. Dinas Island is owned by the National Trust but is NOT run by them. The Perkins family have an full tenancy and they run it. It is the Perkins family who recently won the Sheep Farmer of the Year Award and also The UK National Grassland Management Award. The most reliable source I can find for this claim is Farmers Weekly, which states that the farm is part owned and part rented. I've updated the article with this information. The wikipedia page of Twoo.com [[1]] was edited and improved several times. There are 2 issues marked on that page:

This article is an orphan, as no other articles link to it. (July 2013)

This article appears to be written like an advertisement. (July 2013)

However, in the current version of the Twoo.com Wikipedia page both issues are still on top. Are those unsubstantiated? Would be great if this could be reviewed again.

I have removed the "orphan" tag. However the article has another problem. The lead, which ought to summarise the article, is promotional. However most of the body of the article is negative, stating how Twoo.com misuses email addresses provided by its users to send spam. This ought to be summarised in the lead. My links don't work![edit]

Hello, I submitted my first article last week. It seems there is an issue with it being an Orphan but I have nearly 40 references through. They appear at the bottom of the article and do click through to the correct article. So why is it saying my article is an "Orphan"? It does help us if you tell us which article you are talking about - I assume the article is Noelle Reno?
You seem to misunderstand the meaning of the word orphan - when on that page, if you click on "What links here" (under Tools in the left hand column) you will find what links to that article. In this case no articles link to it, only some Bot searches. You need to integrate your article into the encyclopedia, by adding relevant links in other articles, that lead to Noelle Reno. Getting started de-merging files[edit]

Hi, I am interested in helping out clear up Category:Media_files_requiring_de-merge. To de-merge is it simply a case of uploading the second copy to a new file name and setting the file page/description to match the version at that time? User:Cube00: I think this involves looking at the history of the files themselves, uploading an old version of the actual image with the appropriate file use info (or conversely, reverting the already-extant file to the original version and uploading new version as new file), and perhaps requesting that the previous file revisions on the older file be deleted. I may be wrong about any or all of this, and I don't know of any tools (though manual is definitely an option if my list of what to do is correct). - Purplewowies (talk) 20:41, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I note that none of the references at Helen Marie Grant is to an acceptable independent source. [1] is to the site of the publisher of her book, [2] is to an article which does not mention her, [3], [5] and [6] are to articles by her, and [4] is to a Google search. Unless you can produce references to independent reliable sources which demonstrate that she is notable in Wikipedia's sense, the article is in danger of being deleted. Can't remember where I asked before[edit]

I have a journal article I want to use in editing, linked here, on the mechanism of paracetamol toxicity. I remember asking a similar question in the past where I had a journal I wanted to use but didn't have access, and there was a wikiproject or something that existed specifically for that purpose and it's slipping my mind. Seattle Seahawks entry.[edit]

Since the claim does not seem to supported by a reference, it is a piece of original research, and not acceptable in an article: any editor may remove it (but I haven't, because it is embedded in a larger claim which, though not referenced, may very well be supportable from references; and I know nothing about whichever sport it is they play (OK, American football, now I've looked). But a claim that something is the "only" something should never appear in a Wikipedia article unless it reference a reliable source which says so. --ColinFine (talk) 15:52, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The confusion may be that the Baltimore Colts were a team in the Western Conference of the National Football League (NFL) and played in NFL championships. That is not the same as playing for an NFC championship which was founded when the NFL and American Football League (AFL) merged and the Baltimore Colts became a team in the American Football Conference (AFC). They remained in the AFC when they moved to Indianapolis.

Dear editors: I came across this article which was declined at Afc because the topic is already covered at Gunnarolla. I checked to see if the mainspace article was a copy-paste, but at first it appeared not to be one. However, as the article developed the editor seems to have used the Afc article as a guide and there is significant overlap. There is already a redirect Andrew Gunadie. Is there enough similarity that this redirect should be deleted and the Afc article put in mainspace and redirected instead? Is there please anyway that I can correct this mix-up. Film Professionals around the world are turning to Wikipedia for information on other film professionals and people are confused.

Please give a link to the page with a problem. Le Crie Du Coeur is not mentioned in Wikipedia. Robert Gardner (anthropologist), Robert H. Gardner and Robert Gardner (academic) are all about filmmakers but I don't know whether you are any of them. None of them mention the titles you posted here.
