Updated the search for Harrison Love[edit]

Hi, My name is Harrison Love. I am a real contemporary person. Yet, erverytime I register a website with my name, have copy or tags with my name, what turns up is this article- Harry Love (lawman) A character popularized by the 1998 Mask of Zorro movie. I already have to compete with George Harrison Love songs as a search. Is there any way that I can create a wikipedia page for myself using the top search result for my name from a recent press release- http://streetartnyc.org/blog/2014/09/24/scholastic-hosts-art-write-now-pop-up-with-harrison-love-creating-live-art-in-its-soho-headquarters-window/ Or that I could use in conjunction with other verified articles about my work?

This isn't about self gratification as it is about making a contemporary addition to the search rather than the other dated wiki-page. Please let me know and Happy Holidays!

PS- I will make a significant contribution to Wikipedia via donations- I love you guys ;-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:252:da7:2220:ed82:4bec:b2f4:817 (talkcontribs) 07:24, 19 December 2014‎

Don't create an article about yourself (see the Plain and simple conflict of interest guide). As for getting higher up the Google rankings, I can only suggest that you follow their tips for layout of page content in the best way possible (see this) - X201 (talk) 12:20, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This page is for questions about how to use or edit Wikipedia; you are asking for advice on how to abuse it. But never mind that. I assume that you would like Google to give a higher rating to http://www.harrisonlove.com/. I have looked at the source code for that page (it is the source code that Google's spider will be judging it by), and neither of the names "Harrison" and "Love" appears until line 1354. The spider may well have lost interest by then. I suggest you ask your web designer to arrange for "Harrison Love" to appear near the top of the page. Regarding "I will make a significant contribution to Wikipedia via donations", do you really think that Wikipedia should allow offers of financial inducements to influence its decisions regarding content? AndyTheGrump (talk) 15:16, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Animated image size[edit]

Can the animation here be shrunk? The full-screen display seems "undue", but the markup already says "small". Substituting a px size removes it altogether: Noyster (talk), 09:31, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Noyster:I had a go at a few different things and couldn't get the original image any smaller without it dissapearing. I have resized the file and uploaded it as a seperate, smaller image. Changing the px (or letting the default size apply) should work for the new one if you want to make it any bigger or smaller. Sarahj2107 (talk)

Don't delete my page[edit]

I received a message from you saying you are about to delete my page, which is called "Hank Plante." It's my bio. The message said it's because there were no references which back-up my information. But at the bottom of the page there are several links to newspaper articles which have been written about me. (I am an Emmy Award-winning journalist).

Please notice those existing references and don't delete my page.

Thank you,

Hank Plante — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hankhankhankhank (talkcontribs)

It's not "your" page. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:30, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What RedPen said ^. Also just because the article is chuck full of references, be wary of our conflict of interest policy and our notability (for people) policy. I noticed one of your references for this link doesn't go anywhere and therefore cannot be used because it is a dead link. Please use something else. Thank you.--A Wild Abigail Appears! Capture me. The notice regarding possible deletion dates back to June 2011, and given that sources are now cited, no longer applies. This isn't a guarantee that the article can't be deleted, but I'd think that being a winner of multiple Emmy Awards makes this unlikely. AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:02, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

setting up a new page[edit]

new to this. trying to set up a NEW wikipedia page and have no clue how to do this. I'm not the technical guy, more creative guy any help would be greatly appreciated..... thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Musicallaround (talkcontribs)

Welcome. Check out the guidance at WP:YFA and see if that helps. Feel free to come back here if you have more questions. RudolfRed (talk) 20:51, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Musicallaround. Please don't think in terms of "setting up a page" - that approach belongs to social media, or business directories. Think of "writing an article" instead. And if it is to be an article about yourself, your friends, your band etc, please read our guidance on editing with a conflict of interest. --ColinFine (talk) 13:02, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading[edit]

I'm trying to figure how to upload an image, but I don't know how? I tried several times but it won't help. Tomandjerry211 (talk) 22:06, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Uploading images for how to use images in Wikipedia. But first, make sure that the image is available under the appropriate copyright licensing.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:11, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
