If you can find some reliable sources that show this new thing is notable, then you can request an article at WP:RA I don't know what UCC 1-308 all rights reserved means, but anything posted on Wikipedia is under the GFDL and CC-BY-SA 3.0 Licence. RudolfRed (talk) 02:41, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

The first Google hits on OPPT are Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, and Optimal Performance and Physical Therapies. They don't sound like your description but further down I see something called One People's Public Trust. Is that it? PrimeHunter (talk) 02:56, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

If you want an article on a subject you can either try writing one, or request one at WP:Requested articles. But the onus will be on you to show that the subject meets Wikipedia's criteria for notability. From your tone and the fact that a Google search does not turn up an immediately obvious candidate, I suspect that your purpose here it promoting something that is not, at least not yet, notable. If that is the case, please come back when independent reliable sources have noticed your societal movement. --ColinFine (talk) 22:28, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

1) Sounds like an up-and-coming next big thing, which by definition has no place here.

2) UCC 1-308 has no relation to anything to do with intellectual property rights of any kind. If somebody is trying to tell you that it does, I'd look at whatever else they have to say with extreme dubiety.

3) If you do mean "One People's Public Trust", that's just the latest magical-thinking tax protester scam in the sovereign citizen movement vein, and not even one sufficiently notable to merit an article here. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:59, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Dear JB Brown: I hate to be the bearer of such tidings, but "OPPT" -- whatever it is -- is not a "most viral and important/significant new societal movement." And, as others have noted above, if it were a "most viral and important/significant new societal movement," that "fact" would not, in and of itself, qualify the subject as being suitable for an encyclopedia article.

By the way, the phrase "without prejudice UCC 1-308 all rights reserved" is meaningless gibberish based on garbage that is passed around the internet. Writing such language when you sign something on this Wikipedia page has no legal significance. Famspear (talk) 23:29, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Have you tried Wikipedia's Reference Desk? They specialize in knowledge questions and will try to answer just about any question in the universe (except how to use Wikipedia, since that is what this Help Desk is for). The user page wspivak rambles and is self advertising. The person is not historically significant and many of these accomplishments are not significant or verifiable. Coordinates for use in infobox

Resolved

Template:Infobox exchange has a field coor. Is there an easy way to retrieve those coordinates? I would like to add a value for the parameter to the infobox in an article, but I am unsure how or where to obtain these coordinates. Can I do it using Google Maps? If so, how? The article where I want to specify that field in the infobox is Fukuoka Stock Exchange. -- Toshio Yamaguchi 11:07, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

In the United States you can right click on a location in Google Maps and then click "what's here?" and it will put the coordinates in the search box at the top. I tried to search your building, but I can't read Japanese so I can't tell you if it works for Japan. CTF83! 11:23, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

http://www.earthtools.org/ also works, just zoom in as far as you can, click "find places" on the left then click "location" on the left and it will give you the coordinates. If you're in the wrong place, just move to the correct one, hit "height" then "location" again to reset it. CTF83! 11:31, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure where you went wrong with the coordinates, Toshio; but for future reference, the easiest way to find coordinates for a place whose location you know is to use this tool. Just drag and double-click on the map repeatedly to zoom in on the location, then Ctrl-click to place the marker on the place. You can then read the coordinates in either decimal or degrees-minutes-seconds format. The tool even displays some filled-in {{coord}} templates on the left, which you can just copy and paste into an article. Deor (talk) 12:51, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Question Regarding Logo Images Contained Within PDF Files

I have a question regarding logos that might be made available online in PDF format only. Is it possible for logos to be extracted out of PDF files (by the uploader) and uploaded to the Wikipedia article corresponding to the station of the extracted logo? I notice that for certain articles (such as WFLC, WEDR, and WHQT), the logos were all extracted from a PDF file. I've got a few radio stations I know of that don't have any active websites but they have PDF files which feature the logos. Yes, that's possible. However the logos copyright status needs to be determined. Can you provide a link to the PDF document containing the logo and tell us, in which Wikipedia article you want to use it? Then we can give more specific advice. -- Toshio Yamaguchi 16:55, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Here's The PDF Logo I Was Considering

Here It Is: The radio station logo for WLTN (AM), enclosed within the upper half of this PDF file. The parent company of WLTN (AM) seems to be Radio New England Broadcasting, LLC and the "Oldies 1400 & The Golden Great 98.5" portion of the upper half of this PDF file seems to be the logo for WLTN (AM) (everything above the light-green-font "Featuring the Greatest Hits of the 60ʼs, & 70ʼs !" and possibly excluding the jukebox image). By the way, I'm in doubt that maybe this is something that should be taken up on the Files For Upload page; although, I'm also uncertain about whether if I was to take up this concern on that page, I'd be referred back to this page.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the topic is PDF Image Extraction to obtain a logo image and upload it into a Wikipedia article.

This can be uploaded as a free work, because it fails the threshold of originality required for copyright protection. In the file upload wizard, you can simply select This is a free work. Then select This file is in the Public Domain for some other reason. Select It is too simple to be eligible for copyright. To Toshio Yamaguchi, I'm afraid that I don't upload images myself. This is partially so, because I wish to avoid accountability if anything is wrong with what I upload or whether a copyright issue gets violated. I present the URL links to the images I wish to have uploaded to the Files For Upload page. It is very easy to violate a copyright and I'm a bit too faint-of-heart to run that risk. I wished for most of the upper-half of the file to be added, such as the "Oldies 1400" and "Golden Great 98" and stuff like that (like, multiple images that all make up the logo). I do appreciate the upload; however, I'd just like to clarify that multiple images existing at the upper half of the PDF file of mention all make up the logo, such as the "Oldies 1400" and "Golden Great 98" and Blue-Text "WLTN" and, quite possibly, the jukebox image. Is that combination of textlogos and the image officialy being used as a logo by the station? Wikipedia has rules regarding the use of logos, see Wikipedia:Logos. Per Wikipedia:Logos#Logo choice: "Logos that contain slogans should be omitted in favour of equivalent logos that do not." -- Toshio Yamaguchi 18:57, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

To Toshio Yamaguchi - "Is that combination of textlogos and the image officialy being used as a logo by the station?" - Yes; although, the only element of uncertainty is the jukebox. Otherwise, the answer is yes. That being stated, perhaps the jukebox should be excluded, if you do update the logo upload to feature also the "Oldies 1400" and "Golden Great 98" (basically, the total WLTN (AM) logo).

As for those rules you've linked me to, I'll read up on them right now. If those rules concerning the use of logos in Wikipedia featured in Wikipedia:Logos restrict us from being able to post the logo in the manner that I've described, then I guess the logo will stay as it stands.

Does not exist

my problem is this. I am told that the information i seek "does not exist " BUT I have obtained from wikipedia websites that the information does exist , namely - Edward byles Cowell translation of Omar khayyam which he had printed in the Calcutta review of March 1858 . I am also told by wikipedia that the calcutta review of 1858 does not exist !!!. BUT I am invited by wikipedia to " have the requested items "created". Do you not think that the term "does not exist" needs some clarification? I think I have guessed what you refer to, but it was difficult because you omitted the start of the quote, and registered users are used to seeing a different text. While not being logged in you must have entered "calcutta review of 1858" in the search box. This gives the text:

The page "calcutta review of 1858" does not exist. You can create a draft and submit it for review or request that a redirect be created.

It simply means that Wikipedia has no page with the exact page name "calcutta review of 1858". It doesn't say anything about whether such a thing exists outside of Wikipedia, or whether it's mentioned in Wikipedia under another page name. It's mentioned in Edward Byles Cowell.
