It says "Most viewed articles in 201012". That means 2010 December and not 2012. All 1,292,082,755 alleged page views were 11 December 2010. It was discussed at Talk:Main Page/Archive 163#Question about page view statistics, but I couldn't give a proper answer and still cannot. incategory[edit]

I see several articles with the word "love" in the title here: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:All_articles_lacking_sources&from=I

This link: Help:Searching#Search_engine_features says I should be able to type "Love" incategory:All_articles_lacking_source but nothing matches. What am I doing wrong?

Ideally, I would like to find keywords that appear in the title or in the body that are also incategory:All_articles_lacking_source

Help:Searching#Search_engine_features says: "incategory: – using the incategory: parameter returns pages in a given category (as long as the pages are directly categorized, and not transcluded through templates)."

The problem is that maintenance categories like Category:All articles lacking sources are nearly always transcluded through templates, for example Template:Unreferenced. The search function searches the wiki source of the article. The template name is in the wiki source but not the name of categories added by the template. You can try searching on the template name instead but it's not a reliable method to get all articles and no false hits. Try unreferenced intitle:love and then try replacing "unreferenced" by various redirects shown at [1], or use OR to search multiple template redirects at the same time. Note that intitle:love only searches pages with love in the title. Without using intitle you get lots of articles with love in the article body but not title. None of that worked. :) I'm so sorry. But, it gave me a clue to simply search the words unreferenced and India and I get exactly what I want. Funny thing is, the word unreferenced doesn't appear in the articles. I just don't understand why it works. Anyway, thanks to your kind and thoughtful replies, I think the problem is solved. I'm not sure why you said "None of that worked." unreferenced intitle:love was a link and it does what I thought you wanted by only searching articles with love in the title. Translation to English[edit]

What's happened to the revision history?[edit]

When I was viewing the revision history of this page, I saw that every entry had been highlighted in a pale blue, and a link that said "[automatically accepted]" after each one. It should happen for all pages on your watchlist when you view the page history before having viewed the most recent version. You can disable it with this in your .css:

I don't know why it is under pending changes. I would surmise that I had inadvertently clicked that option, but can't think of a reason why (I'm well aware that pending changes are over). Thinking about it, I'm not sure why it is possible to even do so. It is not an option when using the twinkle ((pp) tab, but is possible from going through the drop down menu (page) --> (protect page). I can own guess that while scrolling down with my touch pad mouse to the save button, I had dragged the option in that field. Good catch Floating Boat and I'll go ahead and remove it. Correct information being deleted/false info being inserted[edit]

Not sure if this is the right area to put this in, but I take a lot of offense to the writer who keeps editing my name out of the entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-sports_trading_card#Sketch_cards My name is Rusty Gilligan. I have been widely known as the 'creator of sketch cards' back in late 1992/early 1993 with Clubhouse Diamonds series 2... a set that I also designed for the company Clubhouse Diamonds (aka Gentleman's Club Magazine under the direction of Brian 'Buddy' Fetter) I belong to a sketch card group on Facebook where I am widely known and acknowledged as their creator. ref: http://adulttradingcards.com/?page_id=404 from a leading industry source. Where to upload pictures[edit]

In recent years I have uploaded some hundreds of photos to Wikimedia, many of which I have used in WP articles. I find that option convenient. I see that there is also a WP upload option. Why? I can't remember using it, but have an impression that I may once have tried and it was harder to use. Is the impression correct? What is the difference, whom does it affect, how, and why? Which of the two is preferable, and why? I assume that I am user number 113355 to ask this, so if anyone would like to refer me to where I couldn't spot the answer instead of wearily going through it all again... Generally speaking images that you have created yourself, that are public domain or that are not eligible for copyright protection should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. Images that are being used under En Wikipedia's non-free content criteria should be uploaded locally to En Wikipedia.--ukexpat (talk) 18:35, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And images that are uploaded to Commons are able to be used at any of the WikiMedia projects such as Wikipedias in other languages. If an image is uploaded just to a specific language Wikipedia, that is the only place that the image can be used unless it is also uploaded to each other Wikipedia. Thank you folks. It then seems to me that, since I am not a pro photographer, and I am perfectly willing for non-En Wikis to use the material, I should continue to use commons. Fixing wikilink[edit]

Hi, yesterday someone added a line to the Pacific Gas and Electric article in the "San Bruno, California explosion" section about the company's recent advertising campaign. My question concerns the wikilink that was added for CEO Tony Earley, which actually directs to the page for author Tony Earley. PG&E CEO Tony Earley doesn't actually have a Wikipedia article. Is the best thing to do here to just remove the wikilink? If so, could someone do this for me? I'm an employee of PG&E, so in general I prefer not to edit the article, but I may do this later if the link is still there. Thanks, PParmley (talk) 18:44, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! The best thing to do is to change the link to read [[Tony Earley (business)|Tony Earley]] or something like that. This will turn it into a "redlink" that will lead someone to create the article Tony Earley (business), which is how Wikipedia handles multiple articles with the same title. This process is known by the term "disambiguation" at Wikipedia (kind of a mouthful, I know) and the details of how to do it are at Wikipedia:Disambiguation. --Jayron32 18:59, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is a feature in your browser and not Wikipedia. Browsers can usually reset zoom to 100% with Ctrl+0 or adjust it with Ctrl++ and Ctrl+-. Ctrl and mouse wheel can also change it. If this doesn't work then what is your browser? PrimeHunter (talk) 23:07, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
