The three images the user has ever uploaded all use the same camera. It seems safe to say that they are the ~~author~~ uploader's own work, and that they intended to release the image under the same license as the overwritten image. Jon Kolbert (talk) 14:48, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded the initial image in 2005. I know the person (Noisemonkey) who uploaded the other two, and he is legitimate. No reason to delete in, IMO, unless a statement on the rights is mandatory. Jim_Lockhart (talk) 12:31, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I've split the images. The original image is en:File:Taisekiji Hoanden.JPG, the second upload is en:File:Taisekiji Hoanden 2.JPG, and the final version is reuploaded by the uploader at Commons:File:Taisekiji Hoanden.jpg. I can rename the Commons file (to avoid overlap), if requested. P.s. there is currently a db error generated when restoring the original image. I will retry later. Added proactively by uploader to seek discussion on the image's fair use rationale and if it properly falls under WP:NFCC#8 'Contextual significance'. As Finnusertop put it when I asked his opinion: "It's the kind use that is neither obviously acceptable nor unacceptable." Tips on reinforcing and/or amending the rationale welcome as well! The image claims to be available under parliamentary copyright but there is an exception to images used on individual MP pages which states -

Exceptions
All photographs of individual MPs and Peers on the biographical pages and Committee pages are the exclusive property of Dods and are protected under international copyright laws.
