Note: there are a bunch of these patches in use at St John Ambulance Australia Cadets, all uploaded by the same, now-vanished user. Some of them (e.g. File:Sjaa-cadet-prof-badge-animals.png and File:Sjaa-cadet-prof-badge-driver.png) are probably too simple to be copyrighted and could be tagged with {{PD-ineligible-USonly|Australia}} (threshold of originality is low in Australia, commons:COM:TOO#Australia). clpo13_(talk) 18:14, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the other files to this nomination. I changed the license of some very simple ones to {{PD-ineligible-USonly|Australia}}. Others might be eligible as well. For the others, I don't think there's a case for fair use here. There's no commentary on the badges beyond naming them. It might be best to just remove them from the article entirely if most of the badges are deleted as copyrighted, or else keep a sample set to show what the badges in general look like (as in Merit badge (Boy Scouts of America)). clpo13_(talk) 18:36, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

With all respect, this is a pointless discussion. This has been debated before, and I think everyone agrees it should comply with point 17. The image has been removed from these various articles countless times. It doesn't matter. It keeps getting put back. This same discussion happened five years ago, it will probably be happening five years from now. Should it be on those articles? No, I absolutely agree with you. Is it going to be on those articles? Yes, and there's almost nothing we can do to stop it. This is THE most used non-free file on the project. All enforcement efforts to limit that use have failed over and over and over again. - I don't agree with Hammersoft's defeatist view. If it's the same users adding it time and again, that's disruptive and a a behavioral issue that can be taken to a proper venue. If it's the same articles it's being added, the consensus at FFD should be documented on its talk page, in a hidden comment at the location where the image is re-added, and/or at an editnotice. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 16:25, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  - Don't get me wrong Finnusertop; it's not defeatist. It's realist. I'm all for trying, just we have to be cognizant of the reality. For whatever reason, a lot of people are very passionate about this logo being included in far more places than any other logo on the project.
