List of tallest buildings and structures in the Paris region[edit]

No consensus. Still a featured list.

FYI: Original nomination and appearance when awarded featured list status.

This list has grown from the original 40-odd to just over 100 tallest buildings/structures. There are no references. There are two footnotes. The first, The World's Best Skylines, is a personal homepage, not a reliable source. The second, Paris-Skyscrapers, is a broken link to a site in French. The External links section contains forums, failing WP:EL guidelines.

Specifically, the list fails 1.a.i: a minority of entries are blue links. It could pass on 1.a.iii if the scope was explicitly the top 100. It fails 1.c in that the information is currently unsourced. Any references found should include more than just height information. A quality combination of footnotes and references should be used. It fails 2.a in that the lead doesn't define the scope. Colin°Talk 13:36, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Few comments:
  • The problem of sources is solved. The paris-skyscrapers website has been recently updated and the direct URL address to the highrise buildings summary page have been changed. I have just updated it to the new address.
  • The red links are a minority in this list. Some of them are due to formerly existing pages having been deleted because considered as not enough relevant to wikipedia.
  • I doubt that making the list more exhaustive in including more highrise structures is a decent reason to remove the status of featured list to a Wikipedia article. As far as I know, a more exhaustive information isn't against Wikipedia principles. Metropolitan 18:19, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't agree the sources are fully solved or adequate. The personal homepage and the forums in the external links remain. Red links are only a minority because most entries have no links! Yes, there is nothing in Wikipedia's principles against expanding a list. But if it expands beyond what its sources validate, or to include mostly non-notable entries, then it might not pass FLC. The FLC do allow lists with lots of non-notable entries provided the list is a well defined finite set. So if you make it explicit early in the lead, that this is a list of the top 100 buildings, then that's fine. Colin°Talk 13:02, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
