Another cricket list, we're flooding the nominations list with them at the moment! This one is loosely based on the similar List of ODI cricket centuries scored on debut. I have an open nomination, but it has two supports and no outstanding concerns. As always, all comments and suggestions welcome. Harrias talk 18:57, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Players representing all ten of the Test-playing nations have scored centuries on debut" - This needs to be slight rephrased to avoid ambiguity.
  • Changed to "on Test debut."
  • Australian cricketers -> Australia cricketers (to be on the safer side when you think of Kepler Wessels)
  • He was a cricketer representing Australia, so he was an Australian cricketer. On Wikipedia, nationality of sportsmen indicates the team they represented, not the country of their birth. Harrias talk 09:52, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • "In the first Test match played, between Australia and England in March 1877, Charles Bannerman became the first cricketer to score a century on Test debut" - This one reads superfluous, cannot think of an alternative at the moment though.

  • I could cut the second half of the sentence to "...Charles Bannerman became the first cricketer to score a century in Test cricket."
  • "Rowe, Brendon Kuruppu, Mathew Sinclair and Jacques Rudolph also achieved the feat" -> Rowe, Brendon Kuruppu, Mathew Sinclair and Jacques Rudolph are the others who have achieved the feat (or something like this).

  • "His double-century is one of five made on Test debut; Rowe, Brendon Kuruppu, Mathew Sinclair and Jacques Rudolph also achieved the feat" Both the parts are fine by themselves.   • Shouldn't the flag for Lara Amarnath's entry use the British Raj's?
  • In the venue col. some have cities while others do not.

  • A secondary sort is needed for the "Score" col. based on time (ascending sort doesn't work).

  • This one is a personal preference, it could be worth adding a "Result" column.

  • Again, in the table you could note cricketers who actually did not score their debut hundreds in their very first innings.

  • On what basis does the "Batsman" col. sort?
  • It uses ESPNcricinfo's sorting. Basically, it sorts by last name, except for Bangladeshi and Pakistani players, who list by first name. Harrias talk 09:52, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Some of those seem to go each way. I've clarified by checking the sortkey used in the article. For example, Abbas Ali Baig has {{DEFAULTSORT:Ali Baig, Abbas}}, though ESPNcricinfo does list him as AA Baig. But if you know more about this and can set me right, please do so! Support I'm struggling to see any issues with this list. To add to Venastry's comments regarding prose, I think both sentences are fine and should remain as they are.   • Those missing flags are a bit of an oddity to our general readership.
  • " example, (1/3) denotes" the parentheses are not used or needed.
  • Chevrolet Park is piped to OUTsurance Oval which redirects back to Chevrolet Park...
  • New Wanderers is piped to New Wanderers Stadium which redirects to Wanderers Stadium.
  • M. A. Aziz Stadium appears to have spaces and full stops in its formal title.
  • Also worth fixing the Cricket records template so it doesn't redirect to this page, so it points directly to it.
