Styrofoam1994[edit]

Styrofoam1994 (talk · contribs) I wish to see how I can make my editing and civility better. I got blocked once in February 4, 2008, for personal attacks, and I am trying to reform. I am also seeing what else I need to do to qualify for adminship. contribsSTYROFOAM☭1994TALK 18:23, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

Just a quick review from me. If you want to become an admin, you'll likely have to wait 6 months from the time you got blocked. You'll also want to use edit summaries more often. Most editors require, oh, 99% or more. If you want you can turn on an option in "My Preferences" at the top of the page which will warn you if you don't use a summary, or you can do what I do, which is just remember to put in a summary for every edit. You'll also want to be more involved in the Wikipedia namespace and Wikipedia Talk. I see you do quite a bit of work in WP:AFD, WP:UAA, and WP:AIV, keep it up. You'll typically need several hundred edits in the Wikipedia space to pass RFA. Useight (talk) 01:38, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another comment and belated. Your recent edits look fine to me. A lot of them are anti-vandalism, which is good. Try to do some editing/writing where you can for balance for your own benefit. Help get some articles you follow through good article review or featured article review if you haven't already. Add references are you go. Much harder to find a reference for text later on. -Fnlayson (talk) 22:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am proud of every edit that I did equally, except for the uncivil and attack edits directed at User:Durzatwink and his sockpuppets. Perhaps I take most pride in creating articles with knowledge I never knew before, such as the dambura where the research came solely from external sources.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have been in a few edit wars: one was about somebody vandalizing (vandal was User:Durzatwink who repeatedly reverted my edits that undid the vandalism and point of view), which was one of the reasons I got blocked once. I feel that no editors particularly created stress for me, except for User:Durzatwink and all his sockpuppets. I have dealt with this user with impudence because of his numerous violations of policies, and I got blocked for it. In the future, I plan to deal with these kinds of troublesome editors more calmly.
