Shreshth91 (talk · contribs) I've been an admin since December 3 2005, and I thought I'd reconfirm what the community thinks of me. In my early days, I was naive, and I created a copyvio Lyrics - Songs about Jane, and some book review like edits to Blink (book). I would have thought my age (14 years) would go against me, but some people consider it OK ([1] [2] [3]). After I became an admin, I should have been blocked for violating 3RR (if the current rules were in force) deleting BORED 4 times in a very short time, and the matter went to WP:DRV, but my actions were supported. Since then, I have tried to be civil, though if I may have failed, I apologize. In capacity as an admin, I have deleted over 400 articles, around 20 protects, and a few blocks.

I have over 5000 edits over 1 yr, mainly in main (1710), user talk (1260) and project (805)namespaces. Please also see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Shreshth91.--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91(review me) 17:30, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you everybody for all your useful and reassuring comments and suggestions. I will try to implement all your suggestions. Thanks you, and cheers!--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91(review me!) 20:42, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Age doesn't matter - judgement does. Your contributions are amazing. Computerjoe's talk 17:30, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Probably you are in exam blues :) You are a great contributor, and a great quizzer, too. I do not see any reason why people should again review you once they have shown their confidence. You do not seem to have done anything unpardonable in the mean time! Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:27, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
But even then I had got only 22 votes, which was very few then; what to say of now, when WP:200 has been breached and 300 soon to be.--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91(review me!) 18:32, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
RfA is NOT a popularity contest, so it shouldn't affect you. psst, other editors are jealous of the maturity at your age and hence did not vote for you. ;-) --Gurubrahma 09:42, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Were you one of them?--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91(review me!) 17:08, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Superstar. Too good for a review. I'm nearly twice his age yet don't have half his wisdom. -- Samir धर्म 19:03, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't understand why you are going for a review...could you please go over that again. Nobleeagle (Talk) 00:48, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't knock yourself for being less and less active - give roughly 3 hours to WP on Saturday or Sunday, and use it to relieve stress of your studies and exams. Don't let WP add to the main stress factor - don't feel down over WP. Do stuff you enjoy most. Adminship is a responsibility, but in 3 hours, an admin can do a good amount of work fighting vandalism and on AfDs. Focus on 1-2 tasks and don't concern yourself with other issues that will only use-up valuable brainspace. Cheers - I'm on bit of a reorganization myself. Rama's Arrow 20:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent advice... focus on exams and studying and for a break come to WP. And if you have to limit your time on WP, then you have to limit your time for WP. Like Nirav said, focus on a couple of admin related tasks that you enjoy. This doesn't reflect on your adminship in the least -- Samir धर्म 21:14, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Great user and editor. Your contributions have been excellent and your actions in the past can be condoned. I see Shreshth on IRC often and my interactions with him are positive. --Terence Ong 08:48, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Shreshth, as my observation has already been linked in the ER self-nom and as I felt that there is nothing more substantial that I could add, I did not comment. However since you wanted me to comment, let me say this - I agree with the comments of NobleEagle and Rama's Arrow first and foremost. I believe that your performance has been exemplary and I don't think you need to seek reassurances from the community. If you slip up or if your teenage hormones go on a rage ;), we are all there to pull you back. So, no worries. --Gurubrahma 09:41, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think you are doing great both as admin and editor. Very restrained, going by the admin actions you have taken, especially if you are only about 15 now! And the fact that you are seeking this review says much for introspection (apart from being perfectly charming!). I may have thought in December that a self-nom 5 months into editing is a so-so thing to do, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and you have vindicated the trust that 22 presumably close observers (including Nichalp) had in you -- the votes of so many admins ought to make you feel better about the turnout, since they what what is about to be handed to you. Think no more of it, be assured that you are doing well, and take some advise, don't neglect your board exams, which I calculate should be coming up soon. Wikipedia may not give you cancer, but all addictions are bad, and this one can mess you up badly. ImpuMozhi 14:59, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep up the good work! Still waiting for a FA from yourside though. A little more activity in RFAs, FACs, PRs and AFDs could be beneficial. =Nichalp «Talk»= 01:28, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Like others have said, you still are a great editor and admin. As is the case with me, school is taking priority. A suggestion is that you should edit more school-related articles rather than your interests. This means expanding on Maths and science pages instead of famous Indians! IMO, writing about on WP will make the information easier to remember! Just my two cents though. GizzaChat © 10:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Please see my braglist. I have created over 50 articles and of them I am most proud of Proby Cautley, Battle for Carvahall. Of the other articles I have edited considerably to Constitution of India, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles and Fundamental Duties of India, Fundamental Rights in India and Major Rivers of India stand out. Two of my articles Takht-i-Jahangir and Prasoon Joshi have featured on the Main Page as DYKs.
  1. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I have always tried to maintain a certain amount of decorum. Earlier, I used to take many things to heart. I would say the closest I have got to a full out debate was Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of men famous for being well endowed. I have tried to respond calmly and courteously to all messages on my talk page and other forums, despite which I may have erred at some time, for which I cry pardon.
