Nominator's rationale: "Featuring" is not defining. ★Trekker (talk) 08:13, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I don't really see a difference in meaning here, but "about" may be clearer. Dimadick (talk) 08:20, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support in principle but it would be recommendable if someone would check every article manually, to see if the film is really "about" this topic. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:18, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Golden Gate Girl is about an opera singer's mistress, and then the couple's daughter. Hu-Du-Men has no plot summary. Hungry Ghost Ritual is about the strained relationship between the leader of an opera troupe and his stepson. The Mad Phoenix is the biography of a Cantonese opera playwright, but we lack an article on the real man. The Prodigal Son (1981 film) has a subplot about the sexual harassment of an opera singer, and how the singer beats up his abuser. The Spooky Bunch has an opera troupe hired by a wealthy man, but their patron is mostly motivated in arranging a marriage between one of their actresses and his nephew (and presumed heir). Dimadick (talk) 04:58, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • Would there be films which feature Cantonese operas but not about Cantonese operas? 210.177.180.110 (talk) 12:41, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, with the same caveat as Marcocapelle. If the film merely has a scene with this, it should be in the about category, this needs to be checked on an item by item basis. There is no justification for categories for items merely appearing in the film, that is not being the main subject, as a brief appearance is not defining.--Mvqr (talk) 10:23, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Not a genre, and not defining for most of these films. If kept should be moved to "Films about mother-daughter relationships". ★Trekker (talk) 07:19, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Films about father–son relationships. – Fayenatic London 15:14, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Not a genre and not a defining topic of most of these films. If kept should be moved to "Films about father-son relationships". ★Trekker (talk) 07:16, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename as suggested by nom, but it would be recommendable if someone would check every article manually, to see if the film is really "about" this topic. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:27, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I support moving films to "Films about father-and-son relationships", and the same for other categories like mothers-and-sons, father-and-daughters, etc. Marcocapelle Regarding checking each film listed to see if it fits under a particular category, I would say all the films listed appear to have a similar issue to the Breakdancing in film discussion above; i.e. there is some disagreement about whether certain films qualify for a particular category. For instance, a while back I added the film Legends of the Fall to the category of “Father and son films,” as its story concerns three brothers and their father, a plot line which is clearly stated in the article itself. However, another user removed my edit and claimed it was original research (see November 2021 on my talk page). Just thought I’d point out how users don’t always agree on which films fall under what category, even if plot details are stated in the article.

The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Films about mother–son relationships. – Fayenatic London 15:15, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Not a genre, not defining for pretty much any of these films. If kept should be moved to "Films about mother-son relationships". ★Trekker (talk) 07:12, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge for now to Category:Big Bash League; if at a later stage there is clearer consensus that the content here does not belong in the target then it can be removed without the need for a new CfD nomination (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:14, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Overcategorization Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 18:26, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Neutral on Deletion/Possible Merge (as creator) Since it only has the main article and the subcat and it's no longer held, no objection to deletion. This league was replaced by the KFC Big Bash League though (plus 2 teams), so it may make sense to merge to Category:Big Bash League if it's just a rename but I would welcome input from Australian cricket fans on that. - RevelationDirect (talk) 18:35, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge to Category:Big Bash League Slight overcategorisation here, sponsorship names should also not be included in category naming. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 18:21, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete this was a separate, pre-cursor event to the current Big Bash League, so merging seems incorrect. But no need for a separate category for this either, per WP:SMALLCAT. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:04, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
