The result of the discussion was: withdrawn (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 21:08, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: No article for subject, only one member. No help to navigation. Richhoncho (talk) 18:28, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nominator withdraws nomination. Now being flooded with members. --Richhoncho (talk) 19:07, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I was in the middle of saying it was a lazy nomination tbh Richhoncho. I have huge respect for you and generally agree with your edits. It is incumbent on all editors to search for sources and check for reliable information for inclusion before nominating for deletion. That's the last stage or thing one should do. Granted there's no article for Will, I was able to find 17 other entries within 5 minutes of a Google and discography search. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 19:13, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Lil-unique1, To be fair I thought I had checked when you created the cat a couple of weeks ago, but adding unreferenced redirects to redirects i.e. Glucose (song) like you are doing now is not doing your stock any good either. Nomination was my bad, some of the additions will be yours. I apologise for my bad nom here, which I corrected as soon as possible. --Richhoncho (talk) 19:19, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The reference is the release itself. Its been flagged before that retails sources should be sparsely used. There are very few unsourced redirects, the majority are part of albums and can be sourced from parent album credits. I did find 12one which is creative agency which supports Will Simms and has a mention of songs he's worked on. I also checked retail sources where they were available. If there is no article then there's no logical place to add referencing. Remember WP:AGF re: releases and sourcing. I wouldn't go out of my way to add fake entries to keep a category - I'm far too busy with GAs and FLs to make categories up/pretend they're notable. Thanks for the apol. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 19:25, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: split and rename accordingly. – Fayenatic London 13:33, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: We should split this category. Maluku Islands and Western New Guinea are not similar areas. Furthermore title of the category violates NPOV. Sharouser (talk) 15:53, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, the intention of the nomination is probably
That sounds very reasonable, since the Maluku Islands and New Guinea are separate entities. I would recommend nominating the geography subcats for upmerging after the above split is implemented. Marcocapelle (talk) 14:04, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I want to split it by renaming Category:Maluku Islands and New Guinea (Indonesia) geography stubs to Category:Maluku Islands geography stubs. Sharouser (talk) 07:38, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 14:47, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale We have an article on British Malaya, so we should use that name in the category. This is a quasi-expatriate category, and in such categories we generally use the preposition "in", so I think we should here as well.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:22, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Long-obsolete category, see Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2021 May 31#Template:Hide in print * Pppery * it has begun... 15:04, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: keep. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 15:10, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The two categories are essentially identical, and for the sake of simplicity and reducing clutter it would be best for this category to be merged with Catholic Church in Nigeria. ヤクブ (talk) 21:23, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree. It makes sense. --Bduke (talk) 01:36, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • At least in Western countries there are also Catholic lay organizations and there is Catholic (folk) culture which are not part of the Catholic Church. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:22, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • merge or reverse merge -- in practice they are the same. This will not be applicable to all countries, but the overlap between (western) Catholicism and Eastern Catholics is slight in most countries. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:59, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I just added a second article to the category that was missing, Simon Faddoul. I expect more will come in time. Jahaza (talk) 01:08, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose it is part of a large established tree per Marco. Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:12, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 05:45, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Redlinked article, one redirect for a member. No assistance to navigation, Richhoncho (talk) 09:36, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. The one entry was cowritten with another musician. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 20:26, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
