The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:15, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Pretty trivial and overly narrow. Contains only four games, two of which are based on the same movie. Nohomersryan (talk) 03:28, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Marcocapelle (talk) 20:52, 2 September 2021 (UTC) [reply]

Category:People from Saskatchewan stubs[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Canadian people stubs (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:19, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Recent (July 2021) creation, with no evidence of having been proposed or approved by Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting (as is required for new stub categories) and not containing enough articles to justify it: there are just seven biographical articles here besides the template itself, where the WikiProject normally requires a minimum of 60 before it approves a new stub category. We do not have an established practice of routinely subcategorizing Category:Canadian people stubs by individual province of residence -- there is an isolated exception for Quebec, but that's because New France/Quebec existed for almost 300 years before Canadian confederation and even once included a large portion of what's now the United States, meaning that there are a lot of notable historical figures from pre-Confederation Quebec who would be woefully mistagged if we just stub-sorted them as "Canadian". But that historical nuance doesn't apply to Saskatchewan, which was created as a Canadian province from the jump and has never existed as anything else, so there's no real reason why sorting stubs for residence in Saskatchewan would be important enough to override the size and lack of project approval. (And, for that matter, even some of the very few people on whom the template is being used are ones for whom Saskatchewan is actually quite tangential to their notability, such as a person who was born in Saskatchewan but then moved to British Columbia and attained his notability as a politician in British Columbia, and thus didn't have any critically important reason to be templated as a Saskatchewan biography.)
So the Saskatchewan-bio-stub template should just go back to sorting its entries into Category:Canadian people stubs, exactly as it did for 14 years until this was created two months ago, because a standalone stub category for just seven people is not warranted. Bearcat (talk) 20:46, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reupmerge per nom, with no prejudice against re-creation if and when it reaches the necessary 60-stub threshold. Grutness...wha? 14:14, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:23, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Upmerge to parent. Category serves no useful purpose and five of its nine entries are common to both parent and child cats. No Great Shaker (talk) 19:45, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:28, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Too specialised to categorise by ethnicity. No suggestion that bacteriology is different when practiced by Jews. Rathfelder (talk) 18:28, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:34, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: per WP:SMALLCAT, not likely to exceed 8 articles AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 18:04, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per the exception of SMALLCAT as it is "part of a large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme" under Category:Albums by artist. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:18, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - one album is sufficient. Oculi (talk) 21:20, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. --Just N. (talk) 11:15, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: per WP:SMALLCAT, not likely to exceed 8 articles AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 18:04, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:OCEPON. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:18, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as I count 5 entries (subcat albums has 3) and therefor no SMALLCAT valid. --Just N. (talk) 11:18, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: keep (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:40, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Small cat containing only a players category, the main article, and two logos. User:Namiba 15:59, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep. Now one subcat, two articles, a template, and two files... but still very borderline. Grutness...wha? 13:04, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The template is up for deletion as well. The typical standard for keeping categories is 5 articles and the potential for growth. This team is now a summer-league college level team. There is little potential for growth.--User:Namiba 10:52, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Five items, rather than five articles - lists and subcats in particular are usually counted. Less so files, I'll admit, but the category now does have five articles even excluding them. Grutness...wha? 12:41, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Obviously more entries now than nominator had counted. I recommend withdrawal by nominator. --Just N. (talk) 11:21, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: keep. bibliomaniac15 05:17, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Dual merge to Category:Manchester, Connecticut. Small cat (3 articles) that is unlikely to significantly grow. User:Namiba 12:54, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep Four articles and asubcategory now, which is (barely) enough to keep. Grutness...wha? 14:13, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Well, I count 5 entries so SMALLCAT is not applicable here. --Just N. (talk) 15:46, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:44, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Completely redundant category. No other category exists that groups cancelled games by a particular genre or theme. The current by-platform structure is sufficient. CoolingGibbon (talk) 02:58, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Upmerge to the two parent categories which are both applicable to the two articles in the child category. No Great Shaker (talk) 12:58, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename (non-admin closure) Marcocapelle (talk) 06:47, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: "Managers" should be lowercase as in the case of every other team's manager category title. Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 02:29, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy rename per C2C. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:32, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
