The result of the discussion was: merge and delete as nom. bibliomaniac15 00:03, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: anachronistic categories. There was emerging consensus for these at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2020_June_15#1930s_in_Moldova, but a fresh nomination will be cleaner. I am indebted to Place Clichy's advice based on superior knowledge of the relevant history and geography, as documented in that discussion. – Fayenatic London 22:33, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Pope Francis albums[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: keep. bibliomaniac15 00:01, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Just putting this one back out there for discussion with the understanding that consensus can change. The category had been upmerged per a previous CfD in 2015 (see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2015 October 1#Category:Pope Francis albums), and I couldn't find any discussion regarding its re-creation. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:16, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Then why would you suggest deletion? Anyway, album categories aren't deleted even if they only have one entry. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 22:25, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge back per previous discussion. It does not belong in Category:Albums by artist, Pope Francis' contribution to the album are speeches while the artistic contribution is from other people. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:49, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:SMALLCAT and per Justin. Part of an established series of albums by artist, which has a minimum category size of one.
@Marcocapelle, the fact that Francis's contribution is spoken rather than sung doesn't alter the fact that he contributed some of the tracks on Wake Up! (Pope Francis album). --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 11:16, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Reliable sources use "advocacy" far more than "activism". Some examples: [1][2][3][4][5] Crossroads -talk- 18:56, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Fauna of Southeast Asia and Category:Invertebrates of Southeast Asia. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:00, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Consistency with Category:Butterflies of Indochina and Category:Birds of Indochina. Alternatively, merge to the Southeast Asia parent categories. Note: Category:Flora of Indo-China is not included in this CFD. DexDor (talk) 16:11, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support All the fauna distribution categories should use the same name (and cover the same geographical area). (Note that the WGSRPD region "Indo-China" used in Category:Flora of Indo-China is not the same geographical area because it does not include Peninsula Malaya.) Peter coxhead (talk) 19:58, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, using Indochina and Indo-China next to each other with a different meaning is utterlingly confusing. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:54, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's less confusing than using 2 meanings of Indo-China! After this CFD I intend to clarify the category text. DexDor (talk) 20:57, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • If there is no better solution for the Indo(-)China names, the alternative suggestion of merging to Southeast Asia parent categories is preferable. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:28, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd prefer an upmerge as having categories for areas like this (for non-endemics) leads to a sprawling category structure where the categories are massively incomplete and some of the articles are for animals found across a wide range (example). DexDor (talk) 14:52, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge towards Southeast Asia targets instead. The differing uses of Indochina and Indo-China are not only potentially confusing from a navigational standpoint, but also not in line with the most contemporary usage. bibliomaniac15 00:10, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 15:11, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Since CBS Corporation and Viacom re-merged on December 4, 2019, Viacom International Media Networks has been renamed ViacomCBS Networks International. Ridwan97 (talk) 06:55, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Star Wars spacecraft. Good Ol’factory (talk) 02:55, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category only contains Star Wars ships (it probably used to contain others like B5's Starfury but they were all deleted). I suggest renaming it accordingly (and also categorizing it within the Star Wars tree which is currently not done). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:49, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. (non-admin closure) DannyS712 (talk) 08:11, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: All articles here are also episodes of the show. They just happen to be partially or mostly about some battles. So the category is de facto a "Game of Thrones episodes featuring wars and battles". I don't think such a category is needed of defining, but if it is kept it should be renamed (see also Category:Television episodes about space warfare for something related). The result of the discussion was: partial merge then delete. (non-admin closure) DannyS712 (talk) 08:13, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category only contains three articles besides the redirects, and only one of them is about a non-episode event. As such, I think the two episode events can be upmerged to 'ficitonal battles', and the one war article, to fictional wars. I don't see much point in keeping this category that is just a list of redirects. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:44, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
