The result of the discussion was: speedied as a G7 since author requested deletion. Bearcat (talk) 17:17, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: WP:OC#EPONYMOUS violation for a person who doesn't have the volume of spinoff content needed to properly justify one — the only thing in here as it stands right now is a single photo of him, and the only new things that could be added to it beyond that are his main article and a second photo. Eponymous categories are not a thing that every person who has an article automatically gets just because they exist — there has to be a navigational need for it by virtue of there being a sizable volume of related content beyond that which is already linked directly from the main article. Delete. Bearcat (talk) 22:55, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
On that basis, I'm going to withdraw the nomination and just speedy this G7 ("only substantive author requests deletion"). Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 17:17, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete after recategorizing contents to Villages. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:54, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: There is no such category for any other country. There is no definition of what does "out growth " mean . It should be merged, Shyamsunder (talk) 21:05, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can check Out growth article for more info. It is not relate to other countries, as this definition is as per Census of India 2011. Merging this to Towns of AP is not correct, as the definition itself says "an urban settlement contiguous to another (like towns or a City) with all urban characteristics, but it is not qualified as an independent town.--Vin09 (talk) 07:13, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: no consensus.Fayenatic London 21:37, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Making the category broader would allow institutions like New College of the Humanities to be included. It would also fit with the parent categories Category:Private universities and colleges by country. Salix alba (talk): 07:09, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me. --Salix alba (talk): 10:57, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep -- I see little point in providing a longer name. In UK, all universities are independent bodies run by senior academics, led by a vice-chancellor. The Chancellor is generally a mere figurehead. However moist depend heavily on government funding. The statement above as to "private universities" is basically correct. I believe Regents is a branch of an American university (I may be wrong). The distinction needs to be made between institutions that award degrees, usually their own; also colleges (such as Bible Colleges) that offer degree courses where these are endorsed by and the degrees awarded by universities on the one hand and colleges that offer courses towards A-levels (school leaving exam at 18) or trade or professional qualifications. The latter are "Further Education Colleges"; or "Sixth Form Colleges". The term college is also used for a variety of "Public Schools" (which are in other countries terms "private schools"; these include Eton College, Winchester, Harrow and a number of other famous ones, usually teaching from the ages 13-18. The term "university college" is to some extent obsolete, as most have been promoted to the status of university. At one period they did not award their own degrees, usually those of London University. Having said all that, I think that we could keep the present name, but with a head note saying that it includes colleges offering degree courses; and that institutions not teaching degree courses should not be included, including further education colleges, sixth form colleges and public schools. In my view, private higher education colleges should not be added to this category unless the name is changed and the category is moved up from Category:Universities in the United Kingdom to Category:Universities and colleges in the United Kingdom. This is consistent with the definition of universities quoted above and the hatnote at the top of these categories as well as the way the subcategories and articles mentioned above are currently organised.
