Nominator's rationale: The members of this category are not episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000, but actual films in their own right and the name should reflect this as it does in Category:Short films featured in Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes. Personally I would rather delete this category altogether per (NON)DEFINING and WP:OC#TRIVIAL or even perhaps WP:OC#TOPTEN, because I doubt that being featured in a MST3000 episode is a defining characteristic for all 200 films categorized here, and instead refer readers to List of Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes, but a previous discussion was closed as keep/rename with the rationale "Consensus here felt that this characteristic is defining for its content, and this rename appears to be the most suitable option", so I guess deletion is out of the question. jonkerz ♠talk 23:59, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename. Well done, Jonkerz, for anticipating the obvious objections in advance, some of which I would otherwise have raised. As there was a strong consensus before to keep/rename rather than listify & delete, then yes let's have a more accurate & informative name. As these films were not well-known before or apart from M3K, having this category will not result in category clutter on the article pages. – Fayenatic London 13:52, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename per nom.--Lenticel (talk) 05:56, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Archaeological sites in Greece by period[edit]

The result of the discussion was: rename all. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 02:42, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Within the hierarchy of category:Archaeological sites, the top categories for countries include the word "archaeological", whereas the top categories by period do not. Most of the intersection categories keep it short by just using "Foo sites in Bar", including those for Ancient Greek and Roman sites. Within the categories for the country Greece (see Category:Archaeological sites in Greece by period), most include the long word.
Please, let's merge the first two one way or the other, as we don't need both. Note: There was a previous Cfd on 16 Sept just for the first nominated category merger, which was closed as No consensus. I have tidied up some of the contents since then. There was a similar CfD on the Roman one in 2009 with the same result. Neither attracted much comment, so this time I have notified WT:WikiProject Classical Greece and Rome, and widened the nomination, as suggested by the two closers.
As for the Europe categories, look above/below/within and you will see that most others that are intersections with a location omit the word "archaeological".
The last one is for renaming rather than merging because the target is an empty redirect. I will propose the remaining Greek sub-cats for speedy renaming if this nom is agreed. – Fayenatic London 20:21, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 02:41, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Rename to 'Sexual roles'. This category should be renamed because the term "sex roles" is usually used to refer to gender roles and the link for "sex roles" redirects there. Most literature uses the term to refer to biological sex, not sexual activity. Changing the category to "sexual roles" would also match its parent category, Category:Sexual roleplay. Nominator's rationale: Qarpa is a redirect —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:51, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep This is a somewhat unusual situation. The band Qarpa was formerly known as Faktychno Sami. It released albums under the latter name up to 2007 while the last two albums were released under the name Qarpa. It is natural to assume that readers will search for Category:Qarpa albums. At the very least, we need a category redirect but I prefer the current situation where we have both categories and hatnotes that explain the connection between the two. Pichpich (talk) 08:25, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge and redirect. I also suggest we put this on hold and initiate a WP:RM discussion about moving the page to the more recent name Qarpa; even though the Ukrainian page is also at the old name, there are more ghits for the new name. – Fayenatic London 14:19, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reverse merge since we categorize things under their most recent name.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:38, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Rename. All photos of the band used in the article are on Commons, so an album covers category is all that is needed here. – Fayenatic London 14:23, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
