I am nominating this article for deletion, per the helpful suggestion of User:Jehochman. It fails the test of A7 - No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events), and the subject has apparently never been mentioned in any newspaper, ever. The Wikipedia community has taken over 8 years to work on this stub, yet it remains unimportant and unsourced. - 2001:558:1400:10:D4BF:9258:EE2F:4F9A (talk) 19:31, 2 January 2014 (UTC) NeilN talk to me 20:27, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I agree with the nominator. Seems like this project is still vibrant (they had a talk at Wikimania in Hong Kong last year: [1]), but there's no evidence this project has received significant coverage in independent, reliable sources. This group is something that is currently and sufficiently represented at Commons:Wikimaps. I, JethroBT drop me a line 21:09, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect to the relevant page on Commons, perhaps? I concur that there isn't enough for notability. Ansh666 21:23, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to commons:Commons:Wikimaps. It is a shame that this has not gotten more press; I cannot find RS sufficient to pass notability either. However, the project exists and "WikiMaps" is a plausible search term, so a redirect to the WikiMaps page on the commons is warranted. Because redirects outside of mainspace are subject to deletion (see WP:R#DELETE), I'm explicitly suggesting to ignore the rules (see WP:IAR) in this case. --Mark viking (talk) 23:34, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Soft redirect to Commons:Wikimaps per above Mark's suggestion. I, JethroBT drop me a line 16:05, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Not yet notable. IMO, mainspace is not for redirects to our non-notable projects. Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Soft redirect is only 60 pages long, and most of those list to 'content' pages on a sister project; only a few link to a project page on another project. A search of Wikipedia shows that 'Wikimaps' on Wikipedia may also refer to 'Wikimapia' and we also use http://wiki-maps.com/ . This page means it is not easy to search on this term, because this page is shown instead of the search results with other possibilities. John Vandenberg (chat) 18:24, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • We could also convert it into a disambiguation page, I guess. Ansh666 19:31, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
      • Is the Wikipedia WikiMaps tool notable enough to list on a dab page? If not, we could put a WP:SELFREF on a dab page, or redirect WikiMaps to another page and put a selfref on that? John Vandenberg (chat) 04:51, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete—Obviously non-notable. It'd be ridiculous to redirect this to the project itself, which is not a Wikipedia page. That is, per John Vandenberg.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 18:26, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.
