I am nominating this page for deletion for a number of reasons. The article fails to meet numerous Wikipedia criteria, including but not limited to lacking POV neutrality, having little to no substance, and be only marginally verifiable. Ergo Sum 07:07, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • leaning delete I'm having a hard time seeing this getting anywhere beyond what is essentially a dictionary definition with a dollop of POV issues. There's probably an article out there somewhere, maybe several articles, about white participation in these movements, but this seems unlikely ever to be that article. • Weak keep. While this is a poor stub with neutrality issues, those are taggable issues. I don't think this is bad enough to be WP:TNTed. And crucially, the term seems to be used in academic works, even in the titles of some: Beverly Tatum (17 January 2003). Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?: Revised Edition. Basic Books. pp. 93–. ISBN 978-0-465-08361-9.,Boyd Drick (23 October 2015). White Allies in the Struggle for Racial Justice. Orbis Books. pp. 19–. ISBN 978-1-60833-615-9., Cynthia Stokes Brown (January 2002). Refusing Racism: White Allies and the Struggle for Civil Rights. Teachers College Press. ISBN 978-0-8077-4204-4., and Heon Kim (26 September 2014). A Just World: Multi-disciplinary Perspectives on Social Justice. Cambridge Scholars Publishing. pp. 53–. ISBN 978-1-4438-6762-7.. I couldn't quickly find a definition, but I think there's enough to show this is likely notable. A sociologist of race would be good to consult on this, and that's a very popular subtype of sociologist in the US. I suggest pinging WT:SOCIO, it has 2-3 active members besides me, and maybe one of them is familiar with that field? (I am a sociologist of social movements and collective intelligence, so not my subfield). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:53, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete There are actually thousands of "white" Americans who actively oppose racism and/or try to help people of other races. I feel the topic is too vague and artificially constructed for a WP article. Also the title does not seem right since it defines them relative to other people. • Redirect to Anti-racism#White allies. I've just written a new short section in the anti-racism article, meant to replace this. This is a large and important topic, and not well-represented elsewhere on Wikipedia. It would be better served as part of the anti-racism article, as it certainly hasn't done well in its ten-year history in this one... I didn't use any of the existing material. I suggest WP:BLANKANDREDIRECT in order to WP:PRESERVE the edit history and bibliography for possible future use. I'll volunteer to do that, after this discussion closes. Note to the nominator and delete proponents: you could have done this yourself as per WP:SOFIXIT, instead of just dumping it in Articles for Deletion. -- IamNotU (talk) 19:00, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objection to redirect, through the concept is probably notable enough it will eventually be recreated. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:00, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If so it should have a better title. "White allies" could just as well be Japan's white allies in WWII, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Kitfoxxe (talk) 14:57, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully it will be expanded enough in the anti-racism article so that it can be split out again sometime in the future. If someone can think of a better title, that would be fine. Thanks... -- IamNotU (talk) 15:02, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect - Notable topic, but if it's already covered/merged into Anti-racism#White allies (which has more content than this article), that makes sense to me. No objection whatsoever to recreation as that section develops. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 12:45, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
