I cannot find enough reliable information for an article to be justified. Not enough notability. Tco03displays (talk) 04:48, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment from creator. Boldly re formatting for readabilityI am working on it as she was pretty instrumental in both Collier County and Marco Island. The elementary school was named after her due to her contributions to the education system. She was also noted by the State of Florida as part of the Great Floridian program. More information will come. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carees (talkcontribs) 04:56, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment 8'10" between creation and tagging for deletion seems a bit hasty. Reliable sourcing for a person from this era is often available only in print. Also, such an early tagging may have a chilling effect on the creator's efforts. They may well have information and sourcing that they are now discouraged from adding. Furthermore, 8'10" is hardly sufficient time for an exhaustive search for sourcing. Dlohcierekim 04:58, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Keep plent of very substantial coverage in reliable independent sources covering life work, home, and legacy. Candleabracadabra (talk) 05:24, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Wikipedia is not a memorial or obituary site, and this certainly doesn't look like passing WP:BIO notability requirement on any other ground. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:27, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This woman died in 1949. I hardly think the article can be considered an obituary. --Colapeninsula (talk) 10:06, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. There is sufficient information to establish that Barfield passes the WP:GNG. WP:NOTMEMORIAL is not a concern; and a {{trout}} is to be applied to the nominator for nominating the article for deletion eight minutes after creation. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:45, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment There was a book written about her. Perdichizzi A girl called Tommie in the Further reading section. Dlohcierekim 23:22, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Perhaps being included in the list of Great Floridians makes her notable, but pretty please, the article needs to be expanded. As of the current version, it still reads, with all due respect, like a biography of someone who is not notable (totally ordinary). Being an education administrative official and one of the first settlers in a given place, by itself, does not cut it. I also looked at the cited sources and all I see are snippets of passing mention. Please expand with better sources, and make it clear why the subject is notable. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:35, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully the creator will return. I am reminded to post a note to Wikipedia:FLORIDA to take the article in hand. Dlohcierekim 15:09, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. WP:GNG is apparent from a cursory book search. Nominator is advised to read WP:BEFORE. —David Eppstein (talk) 08:33, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep -- many reliable sources (and the naming of a school is in itself a reliable source of notability). What others said about biting 8 minutes after creation. -- Michael Scott Cuthbert (talk) 21:11, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
