The Fast and the Furious[edit]

Article is completely redundant to The Fast and the Furious (film series). The film series article covers the films and the related merchandise tie-ins such as the video games. This article does not offer any content beyond what the film series article does, and is hogging the main name space. I propose deleting this article and creating a disambiguation page which combines the two disambiguation pages at The Fast and the Furious (disambiguation) and Fast and Furious (disambiguation). I don't see what point there is in retaining a bare-bones article that simply replicates the coverage of an already existing more comprehensive article. Delete and move The Fast and the Furious (film series) to this title, or the disambiguation page. This is more likely to be a search term for either one of those, and the article itself is redundant and offers nothing to readers. Either keep or move The Fast and the Furious (film series) to this title and expand its coverage of the video games to make it a complete franchise article. Otherwise, this is going to end up going in circles forever, because the proposal in the nomination violates well-considered policy. First, WP:DABCONCEPT requires that we not have a disambiguation page at a title for which there is a primary topic, even if that primary topic is a broad concept. Even combining The Fast and the Furious (disambiguation) and Fast and Furious (disambiguation) would necessarily exclude, for example, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Fast Five because these are not title matches to either, which means that we will either end up excluding films that should be listed at the title, or we will have some sort of a hybrid article that is not a disambiguation page. Most importantly, the nominator has been unable to demonstrate that the Fast and the Furious films are unrelated to each other, or that the one obscure film sharing the title, The Fast and the Furious (1955 film), is notable enough to be ambiguous to the franchise. In other words, there is no lack of a primary topic to justify having a disambiguation page at this title, or any other topic than the modern franchise. However, I would be fine with expanding the The Fast and the Furious (film series) to explicitly cover all media in this franchise, and moving it to the primary topic title. This would be consistent with how we treat virtually all other franchises of this scope (see, e.g., Harry Potter, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, Doctor Who, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Masters of the Universe, Popeye, Sailor Moon), unless it is determined that a specific installment of the franchise is the primary topic. bd2412 T 02:12, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I can tell you that I have fixed probably hundreds of disambiguation links to the page, and none of them are ever intended for anything but the film, which is basically a subtopic of the franchise as a whole. bd2412 T 04:34, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
