Merge. The society may not notable in itself, but the entire Union is and the society is a relevant part of it for that article, similar to the Manchester Debating Union on the University of Manchester Students' Union page. Bogger (talk) 13:30, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with this is three-fold. Firstly, the page would continue in existence that would perpetuate the copyright infringement from the cut'n'paste creation. The second is that there has already been a very substantial merge from the article's previous reincarnation. Any additional content would be undue weight in the context of the target article. ~~Selective merge~~ to List of social activities at Durham University – Durham Union Society, which covers the topic extensively. Source searches are not providing enough significant coverage in reliable sources to qualify a standalone article per the requirements of WP:GNG and WP:ORGDEPTH. This book source appears to be promising, but additional book and news searches are only providing short and passing mentions (e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4]). Delete and redirect to List of social activities at Durham University#Durham Union Society. Does not meet WP:GNG so not separately notable. What has happened is that following the merge pursuant to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Durham Union Society this article has been created as a copy and paste from the original article causing attribution issues (hence delete first). Upon reviewing the Revision history, the article appears to have been recreated from a copy/paste from an offline saved version of the article.
