Recently-founded company with no evidence of notability. Powers T 01:10, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Although recently founded, this company does have a number of notable achievements and this article will be expanded to include these items as time permits. And while many are listed in press releases from the company, a simple Google search notes these company accomplishments. I apologize to LtPowers since I my attempts to include this company in the Rochester, New York article appear to have upset this editor.
That said, based on this companies achievements to date, I believe this company is historically more important than other companies in Rochester New York that already have active articles. Mrbutchdog —Preceding undated comment added 04:25, 28 March 2011 (UTC).[reply]
- I'd be happy to keep this article if you can find any sources that satisfy our notability standards. Powers T 12:22, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Based on my reading of the WP:NCORP, the references currently added for the company meet these standards as "Notable". As time permits, I will add more as necessary. In addition, I believe these references cite events that are more notable than the references noted in one of your Rochester, New York article "companies" Rohrbach Brewing Company BTW, I am a frequent customer of Rohrbachs and truly enjoy their establishments. I'm only sharing this as an example for standards comparison. Please let me know what you think. Butch (talk) 17:57, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The sources make a decent case that PicoWatt might be a notable product — note that the articles are generally about the product, not about the company. I'd really like to see some sources that talk about the founding of the company and its (admittedly brief) history; it's that sort of thing that indicates notability. - I don't totally agree with your reference review - I found some of the articles to include short video's where-in the company, its (admittedly brief) history, and it's plans are discussed. That said, the articles that originally caught my attention as "notable" did discuss this company; unfortunately they were in news print and I will make an effort to see if I can find copies on line. Weak Keep: Does reliable coverage of a product that hasn't been sold yet fit notability standards? I'm on the fence but swaying towards keep. ccwaters (talk) 18:05, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]- I do not yet own one of their products, however as noted in one of the references, the company has built and sold units in small quantities to select partners. Butch (talk) 21:23, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- hmmm... why is the listed address of the company in a residential neighbourhood? ccwaters (talk) 18:10, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- As noted in some of the references, this is a start-up company - employees work out of their homes and all manufacturing is outsourced to contract manufacturers. Butch (talk) 21:23, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.
