Delete Wiktionary already has an entry and Wikipedia is not a dictionary. The subject isn't notable, anyway. Sources mention it but aren't talking about it. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:16, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Weak keep or merge- Category:Sailboat components has a number of stubs similar to this, for instance Trailboard, Cringle, and Fife rail. I think the fife rail article shows what the taffrail, trailboard, and cringle articles could look like if someone improved them. That said, I do not see an article, Sailboat components, although there are two templates: Template:Sail types and Template:Sailing ship elements. So to me, the best alternative to keep is to consolidate those stubs into an article discussing the various components of sailboats or ships more generally.Smmurphy^(Talk) 16:23, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comment If it is kept it could be added to Template:Sailing ship elements, which I've done, at least for now. This may have the result of getting more eyes on this discussion. Stern seems to be a viable merge option, but I also agree that even this short article is more than a dictionary definition. So I would also have no objection to keeping, as a historically notable part of a sailing ship . Shawn in Montreal (talk) 05:11, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
